It is sad that for whatever reason your established blog has been blocked so that many who visit there can no longer receive Truth that has been filtered through the lens of Scripture, as you say. Your perspective is unique. May God protect you and Bless you in your continuing endeavor.

    • hi!

i’m not trying to be a bone picker, so i hope you take it in the right way… i was just thinking about what you said…

if Truth is filtered through the lens of Scripture, then won’t it come out precisely as it came in?

i think we’re understanding the same thing… i think perhaps it is better worded, “information” filtered thru scripture?

      may God bless

    • Joel,
Thank you for posted the link re: the NC terror plot. An 8th suspect is still at large.

      http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/5672181/

The leaders of the NC terror group are US citizens and spent years training killers here in NC and sending them abroad.

U.S. terror cells are still active. The one broken up yesterday was 2 streets away from our local school. Please remain alert, everyone.

    • Dear Joel:

I have read all of your books and heard you speak a number of times. I think what you are doing both in the United States and around the world is an awesome gift to all…

As far as Syria… What’s happening in Syria is horrific. The horrors that Syrians are suffering are the worst kind of evil. Clearly Assad is not a good man,and it’s easy to see why many want a regime change. But a regime change to who? And will our brothers and sisters in Christ that live in Syria be safer with the new regime than they are with the old one?

And why have so many Syrian Christians said that they want Assad to stay?

And lastly, if the Muslim Brotherhood takes over Syria, will Syrian Christians be safe? Clearly Christians in Egypt and Libya are not. In fact, some Christians in Egypt have been beaten, put in prison and killed simply because they follow Jesus Christ.

We all want peace. Peace for Christians, Jews and Muslims. We wish for every human being of every faith a life filled with happiness, hope and a future that will provide for all of our children. A future without war. And clearly, there are people in every faith who wish this as well.

But too many times, we have acted without really understanding the true agendas and dynamics at work in the Middle East. With the very best of intentions, many have sought to give others freedom, and yet we have failed to understand that freedom means many different things to many different people.

In addition, before anyone can act in regards to Syria, we must be sure we understand what the consequences will be both to our country, and also to our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in the Middle East., along with those of Jewish faith as well Right now, Christians in Egypt and Libya are paying the price for Washington’s actions. In Egypt, Christians have been beaten, imprisoned and killed. Israel is in far more danger than it was before. Regime change may or may not be worthy of support, but before anyone can decide that, they would need to know who exactly would take over? Will it be the Muslim Brotherhood?

If anyone can answer these questions honestly and knowledgeably-it is you. And I hope you will. Because right now, the “right” path remains unclear.

May God Bless you and your family always, and may He keep you safe.

      • Dear Joel:

Sadly, you are so very right. War is coming. It is not “if”, but “when”. The only question that remains for each of us is, “Will we walk the path of ‘appeasement'”, or “Will we follow Jesus and love God with all our heart and soul, and love our neighbor as Jesus would”. I pray for every Christian, including myself, that we will love God and love our neighbor-no matter the cost. And knowing your courage and selflessness, I am sure you do as well. May God Bless you and your family and keep you safe.

And thank you, for all you are doing to keep all of us “ready”.

        In God We Trust….

  2. Joel,
It is possible to export your archived posts from Blogger and import them into WordPress. I’d be happy to lend a hand if you need it.

    • I am looking all over this site to find some way to ask a general question:
Is there any way you could have these blog entries translated into Hebrew?? I have many young Israeli friends who need to hear this, and I would love to have them read Joel’s insight. This is just an awesome time to share Yeshua with those who are seeking answers to life’s biggest questions right now. Shalom!

  3. Joel, I hope that your issues were just a technical glitch and not someone trying to suppress your blog. You have a great way of explaining events and showing where they could lead. I have read your 4 fiction books and epicenter and enjoyed them greatly. Keep up the great work on the books, blog and with the joshua fund. I believe that God has truly singled you out to deliver a message to millions of people.

    • Joel, New subject: A Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 departs Kuala Lumpur on a 4 hour flight to Beijing. Shortly thereafter, communication is lost as the jet departs its intended flight path and turns 90 degrees to a westerly heading. Search efforts are unable to discover any debris on the ocean and, strangely, no terrorist organization claims responsibility for the loss of the aircraft. Since 911, I hope we have learned to think the unthinkable, The airplane could have reached Iran with the fuel it was carrying assuming required ICAO reserves and alternate fuel were boarded. Moreover, the Rolls Royce engines continued to report engine parameters to the factory for at least 4 hours after flight departure.???? What are the Iranians planning–or need we ask?

  4. Joel, I am happy to see that you have not become discouraged because of the setbacks you have seen on your other website. Your work is terribly important, at this time in history particularly. Do not become weary in well doing. Many of us trust your voice on these matters.

    Respectfully,

  5. Joel, have you considered the interesting thought that the Psalms are prophetic. If so read Ezk 35 and then read Psalm 108. If you considered Psalm One to correspond to 1901 interestingly 108 correlates to 2008. Also see Psalm 17, and 48 and 91. They each hold some interesting pieces relating to Jerusalem. There are many others if you read the entire book as though it correlates to the years beg. in the 1900s. Also interestingly Psalms is the 19th book from Genesis and it is the 48th book counting back from Rev.

Thank you for continuing to bring the headlines to us in a concise manner so that we can see what God is doing.
    Blessings
    Num 6:24-26

  6. Hi Joel- I ‘m so thankful for your updates and perspectives… don’t stop! But what do you think about this article I read:
Even though Russia has advanced south into Georgia, a best-selling new Bible prophecy book says suggestions this signals an imminent march into the Middle East are mistaken.
Instead, says Bill Salus, author of “Isralestine,” the world is about to be surprised by a different kind of devastating regional war involving Israel and its Arab neighbors.
“You can set Russia’s recent invasion of Georgia and Israel’s concern over Iran’s nuclear aspirations on the back burner, not that these topics lack importance,” says Salus. “The stage is not adequately set for the highly publicized Ezekiel 38 and 39 Russian-Iranian nuclear-equipped consortia of nations to invade Israel. Psalm 83 comes first, and then Ezekiel 38 follows on its heels like a Goliath shadow. There are two distinct invasions of Israel, one building upon the other, with both occurring sequentially in the Middle East.”
I’m very curious to know your opinion on this. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
    Sincerely-
    Stephanie <

  7. Joel,
It’s so amzing as I’m reading your fictional series so many things that you wrote as fiction still seem to be coming true. I know you wrote with intention and with possibilities of how things might turn out, but I bet even you are surprised about how much is coming true. I’ll read something in the Ezekiel Option and say “oh that will never happen like that” and that I read something in the news and it actually just happened the way you wrote it. Can’t wait for your new book.

  8. It is said that a person should stay within their field of expertise when speaking. I know you are a good writer and successful at telling stories, however I believe that you should stay within your bounds. The opinions expressed in the recent Flash Traffic are over the top. To suggest that a McCain approach to all our engery problems is DRILL DRILL DRILL will do nothing for the American appetite for oil. You don’t give a drug addict “drugs” to wean them off the deadly stuff.

Regarding the Obama comments on the surge; It is being suggested that the SURGE was not the real reason we are having success in Iraq but that “Better COVERT techniques” are the real reason. By the way and for understanding how do you win an occupation? Who are we fighting, people or an ideology? I believe this is the major problem. Would a victory mean the country would become a democracy rather than a country of tribal leaders?

As history points out to us, when we (the colonies) were fighting the British who arrived in beautiful uniforms and with good weapons, we the rag tag upstarts hid behind trees and shot at them from behind rocks. We won not because we were better soldiers but because we had a just cause. Today we (the Unites States) has the better army, soldiers in nice uniforms but we are not wining the conflict. We are not making the lives of those we are trying to help better. All we are doing is changing the balance of power within the tribes in the area. These tribes have been at war with each other for thousands of years and we think we can change that? How arrogant of us. As a scholar and one who looks to the future (at least in your books) do you not believe the Ezekiel and Daniel prophesies. How about the sights revealed in Revelation. Do you not believe that those are real and will come to be?

Joel, stay in the story telling business. Stay out of and off the Glen Beck (Mr So far right he is left) show except to hock your wares. It would serve you better and help sell books.

  9. ‘Never forget the evil done to us seven years ago today. Never get fogged about the evil that will be done to us if we get distracted and confused’
Joel ,I think we need to remember why God raises up our enemies to come against us as He did with Israel and the King of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar.
Thanks for the good news about Fr. Botros and his ministry .It tells me that God is rescueing many souls before He unleashes the rider on the Red Horse of Revelation 6 to kill many.

  10. Hi Joel, take a look at “Illustrated Armenia and the Armenians” By Ohan Gaidzakian (Copyright 1898) on Google Books…it contains a very complete record of Togarmah which you may find very interesting in connection with Ezekiel 38 & 39, particularly in the historical accounting of the descent of the Armenians (Togarmah) from Japheth. There is also some information regarding the possibility of Georgia being of the same descent.
It is a free download, or can be read on-line.

Your books are kindling a fire in the hearts of believers in Jesus and creating great curiousity in the hearts of seekers. I pray for your continued work in writing about, and providing a “window” into, Biblical prophecy through your blog and books.

    Best Regards,
    Ted

  11. Joel,

Is there anyway to contact you directly? I need help with a most unusual dream. I’m not one to ask for help so this is awkward and difficult for me, at best. Couple that with what I alreadty know is your unthinkable e-mail burden, and I feel guilty for even sending this.

In any event, thank you for publishing Epicenter. The third lens helped make some sense of things.

Regards and best wishes as you complete your mission in the Middle East,

  12. Joel,

I enjoy your blog as well as your heart for those who are in need in the epicenter. It was very encouraging to hear your update a while ago about all the conversions going on in the epicenter!

I am a stay at home mom with four awesome boys and have a blog as well. It is a conservative blog: http://www.rightthinkwithrivka.blogspot.com. Feel free to visit if you have time.

  13. Joel,

What’s your take on this current economic situation? Can it potentially place the US in position it can not effectively respond to situation overseas/impotent to act [think Ezekiel option]?

  14. Joel,
My family and I have been faithfully checking your blog for an update. I hope you are well and will post soon. Especially with the current economic situation in the world.
We would love to hear how this fits in Prophecy.

God Bless you and your ministry,

    Ruth

  15. Hi Joel,
Your writings are very insightful. Thanks for your work. I look forward to seeing a flash traffic in my inbox in the morning.
I have a question. A few months ago you reviewed a book that I wanted to purchase for a gift. What was the name of it? It had to do with the military or espionage. Thanks for any help and may God Bless!

  16. Hi Joel,

First poster here. Thanks for all you do, it is very much appreciated. I would like you to comment on Turkey, is it close to an Islamic Revolution similar to what happened in Iran? According to Ezekiel 38 and 39, Turkey is listed among the nations that are going to attack Israel in the “Gog-Magog” war. Up until now the likelihood of Turkey being involved has been very remote, but this piece has to fall into place before the prophesied invasion of Israel occurs. I believe a regime change from secular democracy to Islamic theocracy has to take place before this nation would take part. I hope to read your thoughts on this subject soon. Thank you and God bless.

  17. Dear Joel,
While the main stream blathers about the lastest SNL spot, you present what matters.
Thank you for praying and keeping us informed.
    God Bless you and yours

  18. Well it is official, and as far as I can see fits with Joel’s thoughts on Ezekiel…We wondered, why would the US ever not come to the aid of Isreal if it was being attacked? Well, I believe you now have your answer, and his name is President Elect Barack Obama. His views on morality, Isreal, and the Middle East are so far left that our country and the world may never recover.

  19. I am about half way through your book, Epicenter, and I love it. It is absolutely riveting.

You can imagine how I gasped when I read the headline on Drudge the morning after the election that Putin is gearing up to take over again.

I first heard about you on Glenn Beck several months ago and am so grateful there is someone out there who is explaining how Biblical prophecy relates to current events in a level-headed, thorough way, complete with plenty of historical foreign policy context.

Please keep doing what you’re doing. I believe it’s holy work, in the way that God gives each of us gifts as believers to share with the world for the purpose of drawing His children near to Him.

God’s Grace and Peace to you.

  20. Joel,

I always appreciate your observations and fluent and insightful writings. I have directed many people to your books and videos and think that God is using you in an important way. If there is ever anything I can do to help your cause, let me know. My own website is at http://www.erikparkeronline.com. I am a voice actor…and it so important to get the word out! I’ll continue to pray for you.

  21. JOEL, I have the Utmost Respect for You and Your Writings, I have 3 of Your Books.(purchased of course!)

  22. Joel,

I don’t know if you read these comments, but I respect you and think you may have made an unwitting mistake.

I’m currently watching the webcasts of you and Lt. General Boykin. When you started talking about people asking you about whether or not we’re living in the End Times, you mentioned that even non-Christians are asking you about it as well, and you specifically mentioned Glenn Beck as an example of a non-Christian.

I’d like to point out that Glenn Beck is indeed a Christian. He’s a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Thanks for what you do. I really enjoy your blog and I am thankful for the good you do.

    • I agree with Joel. Glenn Beck is NOT a Christian. If you study Mormonism, you will find that they follow Joseph Smith. They have to believe in Joseph Smith as a “Prophet” for their “salvation” and to enter their “heaven.”

  23. Joel: I just read Epicenter. I have a BA in Intl. Studies and have grown up with a healthy interest in Biblical Eschatology. I was on vacation recently and ran into an art gallery display of one artist’s depiction of the Revelation. In one tile mosaic that the artist created Christ was seen on a white horse riding forth to make war against the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The painting was striking and the theme has stuck in my head for the past couple of years.
Recently through a series of miraculous events I found myself speaking at the funeral of a friend’s brother who had just come to Christ months before he died. I preached on this exact picture and contrasted it with how Jesus came humbly on a donkey on the first Palm Sunday. I told the listeners about how we are still in the “year of the Lord’s favor” and urged them to repent and come to Christ before he comes on the White Horse as righteous judge. A few weeks later I read your book and was struck by the ending in which you referenced the same scripture. Obviously God is showing this picture to many of his people. Last comment is that I will continue to read your stuff with great interest. My only question is couldn’t you see the temple mount used as a bargaining chip for a peace agreement which partitioned Jersusalem and other parts of Isreal? I mean without all the oil discoveries etc. isn’t it just as concievable that Israel could be coaxed into a dangerous peace deal if they were somehow allowed to build the third temple alongside the dome of the rock in exchange for other concessions given to the Palestinians etc??

  24. Hey everyone! Can anyone tell me if the red heifer is a prophecy that christians are looking to happen, before the temple will be rebuilt? I haven’t heard mention of it by Joel or other christian teachers….

Also- if you haven’t watched the DVD of Epicenter yet, be sure to do so! I also read the book, but watching the DVD really brought it to life!

Thanks, Joel for all you do, and may God bless and protect you and your family.

I miss the daily blogs under the older format as well as the active replies…( they DID get out of hand I must admit))
Your take on the Israeli/Pal conflict has always been insightful and spot on.
From a purely selfish point of view, i would love to read a daily blog!
Posting every 2 -3 days is simply not enough!

  27. I’m not and expert on the Gog/Magog interpretation but it would be interesting to gain some insight on how Christians who live in Russia, Iran, Georgia, Armenia etc interpret Ezekiel 38-39. It appears that the most available interpretation is from an American evangelical Christian and possibly European outlook.

  28. Shalom Joel!

First of all, thank you for your books as they have inspired me to take a closer look at bible prophecy and to better understand the current events.

I just have a question, I don’t know if it has been asked before or not, it’s about Revelation 20:7-10:

7When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

It sounds a lot like the Ezekiel prophecy, but if it is the same war then that means its not going to happen for at least 1,000 years? Is this war that John writes about here a totally different war? I would like to know what your thoughts are about this, if you ever get the chance, on a blog or something.

May God continue to bless you and your ministry in Yeshua’s name.

    Here’s my blog: endtimestory.blogspot.com

  29. Setting out his ideas for a future world economy, Putin called for strong currencies and global regulations founded on international law. In a reference to dwindling Russian finances following the collapse of fuel prices and the recent row with Ukraine, he called for market prices for the transit of energy. He also called for increased capacity in gas pipelines between Russia and Europe – http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/jan/28/putin-economy-davos-perfect-storm

  30. Joel,

I really appreciate your end-time insights and was very fascinated by your account of your spiritual journey. My grandfather is Jewish, and his grandparents arrived at Ellis Island from czarist Russia. Like your father, he observed Jewish holidays with no real understanding of them or who he is…Anyway, I feel convicted quite often about sharing the gospel with my grandfather, but he is turned off very quickly at the mention of “Jesus.” Doesn’t want to hear it.

Could you please be praying for God to soften his heart? Do you have any advice, from a Jewish perspective? Thanks so much!

  31. FBI concerned about ‘cybergeddon’
Joel everyone laughed at Iran when it launched a rocket and it blew up after going 150 miles up. This is not funny because the FBI is concerned about the old freight ships Iran bought the ones in your book where instead of nuking the US they explode a nuke 150 miles over the US and knocking out everything with and EMP. Add this to the scenarios you listed in “ECONOMIC MELTDOWN: WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD”

  32. I am surprised that Joel believes in a “rapture”. This is one of the most dangerous doctrines and teachings the church has ever followed. In his Economic Meltdown article, he says we “might” be taken out. Folks, don’t count on that. Believers will be here with the wicked and except those days be shortened, even the saints would not be able to stand. USA will fall. He is right. We must seek God, repent, and trust Him. But no one should be banking on getting out of this without some shaking ! Again, as smart as he is, I am truly disappointed in the rapture stance.

    • Dear Joel
I too am disappointed in your rapture stance.I was following you on the epicenter conference and though you started telling of some hard times coming and talking against these prosperity teachings (and you also rightfully said some Christians might prosper)right after that you taught that a certain group will be taken out in the rapture. As Paul taught the rapture is really a resurrection. He said something to the effect that the dead will rise first and then those who are alive will be changed and caught up together with them(the resurrected dead)and meet the Lord in the air.And then in revelation 20 verse 4 John tells of a group of believers who didn’t bow down to the beast, were beheaded for their testimony etc., and these came out of the first resurrection, the second resurrection not coming till after the thousand year reign. So unless there’s a half resurrection that the bible doesn’t speak of the first resurrection contains believers that experience the rule of the antichrist. according to these scriptures the rapture comes after the tribulation of those days (Jacob’s trouble)Like our Lord said. And Paul confirmed it when he wrote Let no man deceive you for that day will not come before there is a great falling away and that man of sin is revealed and sits in the temple as if he’s God.So it seems clear that antichrist will kill many Christians. Many will fall Daniel writes. All this not to scare people but to warn them of the difficult times to come so that they can prepare.God said to the watchmen if you see the danger coming and warn the people and they don’t listen their blood is on their own heads .but if you don’t warn them I will require their blood from thine hands. And seeing no scripture is of private interpretation pre trib and post trib can’t both be right so we should search the scriptures diligently like the Bereans and teach what God’s word supports. There is a brother (kenraggio.com )that has some sound teaching on this subject. As spot on as your teaching on the antichrist is (about the Islamic eschatology and the Christian eschatology seeming to run parallel, one being a picture and the other the negative of that picture) so his teaching on the rapture is spot on and based on scripture.I would really urge you Joel to commit some time to this because I believe it’s important to teach the right things based on scripture not hearsay. I love your teaching on alot of subjects but please pray about this one.Like Anne Lotz said at the epicenter coference the alarms are going off and the Lord’s coming is close.God bless you.

  33. There is one thing that I would love to know: what
is the stance of the Reformers (I read “Inside the Revolution” in one sitting last night. It took 6 and
    a half hours) regarding dhimmitude.

As long as “All are equal, but some are more equal
than others” describes the “Sons of Allah” (as Orianna Fallaci called them), the revivalists have

  34. Hey Joel thank you for this site. I really appreciate the work you are doing for our LORD.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of a man named “Siener Van Rensburg” I suggest you look him up. You will find his prophecies coincide with your political analysis.

    Please don’t ignore this post.
Please check it out. You will not regret it.

  35. Hi Joel,

I “Love” your books…I’m also an avid World Magazine reader and I’m pretty confident that world magazine readers would eat these up. I can’t recall seeing any reviews, news articles or ads in World for your books. Let your PR folks they should really let World readers know about your books.

  36. Hello Joel: Between you, and “the devalued prime minister of a devalued government” clip from Daniel Hannan, yeoman’s work is being done to communicate an alternative to what keeps the MSM in thrall.

    Keep up the good work.

  37. I attended the Epicenter 09 conference in San Diego yesterday. What a wonderful day! I’d love to know how to donate to the mass distribution effort of the “Damascus” film.

  38. Joel,
I hope you read this. You have been a huge blessing in my life and in my ministry. I am a pastor and I have a lot of our people following your blog and reading your books. I just wanted to thank you and encourage you. You are making a huge impact for Jesus. I will be on the Israel trip in November and I hope I get a chance to meet you.. Thanks again for all you do.
    Ben Jameson

  39. I am also currently serving in Israel, Tel Aviv. I would love to look at the work The Joshua Fund is currently doing here as well. Who should I get in contact with?

  40. Joel,

Thank you for getting the truth out there. Please see the following Youtube post and make comments on it. Do you agree with the news as it is presented? I do not doubt it, but would love to hear your comments on it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-3X5hIFXYU

It is related to the rise of Muslim nations in Europe. Do you think God will allow this to happen?

Thank you and we continue to pray for you and your work,

    Matt

  41. Joel,
Thank you for your explanations and things to watch for in the last days. I just finished a study of Daniel when I picked up Epicenter.

I am confused as to the timing of the endtimes. Is the war in Rev. 20:7-10 a different war? Does the War of Gog and Magog come before or after the rapture and 1000 year reign of Christ?

Also, Daniel 9:27 came to mind after reading Epicenter. It says that the last 7 years of the end times tribulation will be started with a contract with the “little horn.” Does that play into the War of Gog and Magog as well? Should we be watching for this?

  42. Joel,
I loved your defense of Israel on Glenn Beck today! Thank you so much for standing against some of the kooks out there who say not to support Israel. God bless you!
    -Derek

  43. Bro. Joel,
I just finished reading your book “The Ezekiel Option”. It is my first of your books. I will be reading more.
I study the prophets too, and thoroughly enjoy them. God knows exactly what He is doing.
    Great book.
    T.A.

  44. Sept 11, 2001,
the WORLD TRADE CENTER collapsed,,,,,,,,exactly 7 years later,
    the WORLD TRADE collapsed,
exactly 7 years later, on 9-11-08,,,,,,IN THE CENTERPOINT OF THE 7-DAY “FEAST OF TABERNACLES”, which is a fore-shadow of the GREAT TRIBULATION

The all-time RECORD for one-day DOW-JONES stock market point drop was 777.7 points, 7 years after the WORLD TRADE CENTER COLLAPSE, on Sept 30, 2008,,,,as a result of the WORLD TRADE COLLAPSE.

7 is God’s number for God, completion, perfection.
    777 = God the Father
    666 = the ANTI-CHRIST
888 = the SON OF GOD, Jesus Christ (gematria)

  45. Saddam Hussein died on Dec 29, 2006.
About 3 months before he died, Dean Coombs was reading a bible-code from the Old Testament. The code said that Saddam would die on 12-29-06, by hanging by the neck with a rope, like Haman in the book ESTHER (OT).
Dean told this on his web-site, I marked it on my calendar at home, I waited 3 months, and Saddam died on that day, by the predicted method of death! Wow!

God predicted Saddam’s death-date and method-of-death, to the exact day, 2500 years before it happened, in the Bible (OT), in a hidden bible-code.
In Isaiah, God says that the proof that He is the only True God is…….the God of Israel is the only one who can predict the future. No other god, person, Scripture, religion, science even attempts to predict the future (they know that they can’t do it). Isaiah 46;9-10.

  46. there are many 7-year-periods in the Bible,
the 7 years from 9-11-01 to 9-11-08 is a fore-shadow of the soon-coming 7-year GREAT TRIBULATION PERIOD. (Daniel and Revelations)

At the end of the Great Tribulation, the world economy will collapse, and business-men will weep because they had profited from trade with Babylon. (Revelations 18;11).
Today’s economic collapse is a foreshadow of that coming Collapse.

The 9-11 Disaster was a SIGN FROM GOD, warning the world, that the End of the Age is near; Believe God and repent, before it’s too late.
The world failed to heed the warning, so, exactly 7 years later, God collapsed the WORLD TRADE.

God picked the date Sept 11 (9-11) because 911 is the famous EMERGENCY number. The “emergency” was: the whole world is ripe for Judgement, and was near Disaster and God’s Judgement.

  47. On 9-11-02, the first aniversary of the 9-11 Disaster, there were 3 SIGNS that proved that the 9-11-01 Disaster was a SIGN FROM GOD. See http://www.bible-codes.org for that.
The NY State Lottery randomly picked the numbers 9-1-1 as the winning number on 9-11-02. The huge USA Flag at the GROUND ZERO ceremony split in two pieces, horizontally. On TV, the CNN news anchors remarked how strange and wierd that was.

  48. I just finished your book “Inside the Revolution”. I very much enjoyed the book. I am particularly excited that so many in the Middle East are coming to know God through Christ. Incredible!

I have been corresponding, over the past year or so, with a follower of Christ in Iran that I met through my blog. Some of which you wrote about in your book was quite evident in my correspondence with this person. Your book has given me a nice background for interacting with this person via email. I now have more intelligent questions to ask her. Thank you.

    peace & grace in Christ,

  49. Hi Joel,

I live in Jerusalem. When are you coming to speak here?

I am shy about my faith and I like to blend in as much as possible. But it’s also very clear that God has called me here. I don’t know why I am here beyond teaching English (which is my job) but I know God will reveal it.

Anyway, it would be great to hear you speak next time you are in Jerusalem. I enjoyed your book if for no other reason than I can sense that you also have a heartbeat for Jerusalem.

Hopefully I’ll see you in the epicenter,

    Allison (allison.barlow@aisj.co.il)

  50. Joel,
It appears to me that Iran now has nukes. The lastest Fox News report of Iran’s readiness to take part in negotiations with the west based on “mutual respect” coupled with your latest blog titled “IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER URGES MUSLIMS TO MOBILIZE AGAINST U.S. AND ISRAEL TO PREPARE FOR MESSIAH’S ARRIVAL” tells me that Iran has 1 or more nukes. What do you think?

  51. Pingback: IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER URGES MUSLIMS TO MOBILIZE AGAINST U.S. AND ISRAEL TO PREPARE FOR MESSIAH’S ARRIVAL « THE BLACK KETTLE

  52. Hi Joel, what will it take to get you to speak at the Grenada Institute for Theological Education (in Grenada of course) or at maybe a university in our country?
Excellent books-allow God to continue to use you.
For He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

  53. As I worked at an oil refinery in Pennsylvania, pre 9/11, that was surrounded by tall hills and trees, I would question how easy it would be to blow up the refinery. I had previously received a bomb threat over the phone which I reported immediately to my supervisors. I concluded we were sitting ducks. Also after visiting my in-laws in Deerpark, TX next to Shell Oil Refinery and other major refineries, I could not believe how easy and simple it would be for someone to blow up these facilities. Main roadways pass right beside them, waterways that feed right into them as is with all refineries, even a tourist center right beside the Shell refinery with easy access. Add to that, few guards, few protective wire fences and it is an open invitation for a terrorist attack. This could happen at almost any refinery in the USA! Now, think back to Hurricane Katrina, remember what happened when the oil refineries shut down? Our gas supply dried up over night. Here in North Carolina where I live now, gas stations were shut down! Next, think about how many refineries there are in the Houston area and Bay area all the way up to include Louisiana. Think about how easy of an access it is to reach them through the Gulf by way of boats or through air by small aircraft. Getting the picture yet? Alright, lets now add to the pot the population of the Houston area and lets throw in Dallas as well. Who now lives in Texas and is hated by Osama Bin Ladin and Islam Radicals? You got it, President Bush and family. Lets now flash forward to December 23,2009. It’s just before Christmas, people are out in masses last minute shopping, highways are packed, malls are overflowing as are most stores, many are on vacation to include the MILITARY, staff is cut short at most places of employment to include guards let say. People are not thinking about an attack, they are thinking about getting that gift, or going to a Christmas program and can we even say “peace on earth”? Getting concerned yet? On the other side of the globe, Osama Bin Laden finalizes his attack with the use of nuclear bombs that were secretly smuggled from Pakistan’s Nuclear supply by his “secret helpers” within the Pakistan government which is in shambles at the moment. Also 20 other dirty bombs are already in place at other locations in the USA, lets say Norfolk,VA and San Diego where submarine, Navy and major supply routes are. Also, of course, Wall Street and NY City, L.A., Seattle, Chicago, Washington DC and for good measure, some key military bases like Ft.Bragg and others. Osama implements his horrific plan and during daylight hours for the whole world to see, the unthinkable happens. Mushroom clouds in the USA, most refineries are now gone, major cities in panic mode from dirty bombs, water systems contaminated, and an outbreak of various unknown viruses hits many other area’s. The ten million Americans, who were given the right to be killed by the spiritual leader in Iran and other radical Islam leaders, are now dead as well as millions more. Enough to bring down our nation, perhaps. Is Osama Bin Laden capable of this? PLEASE!!!! Can you say 9/11 one more time?? How many would be needed to accomplish this?? Again, can you say 9/11?? Sadly we are asleep again as a nation. I believe most people in the USA are convinced that Osama is not much of a threat at all, not to mention the president of Iran!! Are we that dumb in America?? Are we to think that Osama is just sitting around drinking tea sitting in a cave shooting darts at bats? Do we not understand this man has financial wealth, political insiders and tribal leaders in Pakistan who are more than willing to hide Osama and protect him and to someday even overthrow Pakistan possibly? One thing we do know is his hate for the “Great Satan” USA and Israel and that he has declared war against us. Isn’t it interesting that our nation simply ignores this and pretends Osama is no longer really a major threat.
I submit that the above could happen but pray to God it does not. If we do not act now to stop this mad man once and for all, and if we fail to understand what is happening in Pakistan with leadership, and if we do not take Iran’ s nuclear threat serious and stop it now, we will have major attacks of some type on our soil in the USA that will make 9/11 look like a picnic!!!!!!! It is hard for me to believe that our great nation who I served in the military for seven years and love, does not see what is staring us in the face. We are too concerned about health care, our economic woes, who is right or wrong, Democrats or Republican. Recent polls show terrorist attacks are very low on the list of concerns by most Americans. Did you even hear much mentioned a few days ago on main TV, Osama Bin Laden and his new video? Some who saw it probably said to themselves, “Oh yeah, ha ha, there’s that ole Osama again who lives in a cave” and never give it second thought. WAKE UP NOW AMERICA!!! If not, we may hear the chant “Osama, Osama, Osama” on our soil and not “USA, USA,USA” !!!!!!
Thank you Joel for your hard work and bringing to light what is going on in the Middle East and the threat to us. You are right on the money and your ability to see even what is most likely to occur in the future should bring us all to our feet and take action now. May God bless you and also protect our nation and the nation of Israel for what may come very soon. My prayers will not stop!!!

  54. Doug:

Here in south/central New Jersey my neighbor, also working in a oil refinery, has offered the same concern regarding the ideal terrorist target!
Security is virtually non-existent, and the suits are only concerned with the bottom line.

Unfortunately, I believe its a question of when and not if.

  55. My daughter came home from school, and they are learning some about Israel and the Middle East. It seems to me that it is slanted toward a negative view of Israel.

I would like to find a good history lesson (not slanted by media) that is understandable to a seventh grader so she does not think that Israel is the “bad guy” and taking away other people’s land.

If you have one or know of a link to one, please let me know.

    Thanks!

  56. Really unfortunate that your book, “The Last Jihad,” “… which was written nine months before 9/11” wasn’t published until 2002.

  57. I found online that the Lisbon Treaty, which should be ratified shortly and will replace the EU’s previous treaty agreement, specifies a period of 7 years to become fully implemented (early 2017). I was wondering if this might be the “he confirms a covenant with many for one seven” from Daniel 9:27. This treaty will also allow the EU to elect it’s first president. Revelation 17:11 refers to an eighth king from this beast (anti-christ) that comes in the end. I know some are watching for the EU to fulfill the revived Roman beast of Revelation.

I was actually anticipating that Russia would be the wounded/ revived head of the G7 +1 beast. Thought that maybe this agreement with Iran/France/US around uranium enrichment could form a “covenant”. However, this 7-year discovery with the Lisbon Treaty has thrown me for a loop!

  58. Joel,
Please consider warning the God’s sheep about William Young at the Break Forth 2010 conference. Please don’t leave them vulnerable to a wolf like this man. Christians look up to you and by not saying anything, it could be taken as implied endorcement of his heresy.

  59. Joel;

Is is possible for you to ask your publisher to make all of your books available on Amazon Kindle. It is a great tool and it would be nice to read your books on it. Thank you

  60. Joel,

Your insight and compassion are commendable. You are truly an instrument of God’s will.

Regarding How Capitalism Will Save Us by S. Forbes, I’ve read Ayn Rand and Milton Freidman and agree, from a secular point of view, the odds and fundamental mechanics of economics and human nature, side with capitalism toward success and elevation of individuals to prosperity and liberty.

However, as you point out, this lacks true inspiration – God’s will. In The Light and The Glory, by Peter Marshall and David Emanuel, the difference between well-intentioned secular motivation, and that focused on the light of God’s will, are as clear as the difference between Jamestown and Plymouth, or Benedict Arnold and George Washington, starvation and Thanksgiving, regarding the direction of our country. God has a plan for the U.S. and Marshall & Emanuel do a superb job of relating first hand logs, documents and quotations to illustrate how God’s hand in our well being is a direct result of His elegant design and a reflection of our dedication to follow Him. When our national compass deviates from His light, we fail and pay dire consequences.

His will is consistent and unyielding throughout history. Humanity’s lack of fortitude and historical memory is plain sad. We see the cycle time & time again. How many times does Ezekiel need to cry out, for crying out loud?

    • They only side, if what is taken is equally given back. And that is rather socialist approach. Giving back is about “defining the other”, who (potentially) is (/might be) being taken from, today, or tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

In capitalism counts only: the quickest return on least amount of investment, and whatever lies of manipulations may improve so, that is: the pushing of any risks to others with less cognitive advantage.

Please take note of prof. Bart Nooteboom on cognitive distans in the cognitive theory of firm, as it explains what really drives commercial enterprise and what it regards “innovation” compared to real innovation, for the better of all equally.

The latter will always remain ideal. The way how things from pragmatics behavioristically (Claud Shannon on code, eleborated further by Niklas Luhmann in Social Systems) pan out as reality are the means to ideally learn from to improve how things should have been done the better way, if there had not been a clock ticking for the economic growth and self survival machine.

Autopoiesis is how things will go, cybernetically independent of mankind. Everything has a pricetag in this respect, and only when for one reason or another, it equals the low pragmatics cycle of innovation, that is the abuse of cognitive distans (knowledge compared to that of others), make it drop in price level, things happen as the best to do, according to the present knowledge. It is government that has to understand this mechanics, and protect the general public interest, not to become outplayed by such low moral commercial business pragmatics, that seek to abuse whatever there is to abuse to squeeze money out of it for a minority with such cognitive advantage of abusing this mechanics. This should be common academic training, for Public management education, but is simply not there. In this respect, those educators, have not properly applied Keynes and many others. They only pick out the advantages, while forgetting about the sacrifices for it to be the academic way of doing things. They take and teach to take, but do not properly teach what is required to give the acres up front to maintain a leading edge. Deputy pharaoh Joseph ben Jacob-Israel would teach the same. Still the OT has got all the answers by far, if only the Fig Tree of new knowledge becoming available is not take for its unripe Adams figs, given by the serpent of commercial pragmatics, but understood well enough to implicitly anticipate ripe figs, around the corner, that only will develop from proper appreciations, of learning properly from reality as it panned out in the past. Now since governments lack the input of properly educated new trainees, today more than ever before, governments rather commit to poor regulation methodologies, one day too few regulations, the next day far too many, as if creating business fields by itself of coping with regulatory flaws.

In this respect it becomes clear what the future is going to bring. It will be tactical economic dealings between the major economic super powers, in particular more and more China replicating the abuse model of the Western nations for its own selfsurvival, forced by the poor judgements of Western nations in the past. The West will be thaught the same lesson it abused others with. Meanwhile this will feed turmoil from the nations dominated by islamic religion, that expose Western nations as not being truely christian, but rather anti-christian (anti Joseph ben Jacob, in Gaia-economic sense).

It is give back what was taken from others, or be taken double of what was (then) stolen. This is more and more what Western nations see happening. For instance Greece. Strong Euro-nations pay more interest burden, for the lack of discipline of Greece. Through such, Greece sort of is the punishment for the strong nations to have been abusing cognitive distance ever since their foundation. It is justice. Understood by Keynes, but ignored by almost all economists. Gaia means: you don’t take by abuse without giving equally back one way or another to the abused. Defining the other is the name of the game, then, that capitalism neglected to do. And the unborn till in the far future are paying the ever increasing and never ending heavy toll for that.

  61. Concerning Netanyahu and Ezekiel 37.
Ezekiel 37:11 mentions specifically WHOLE house Israel and not just Judea. This has to be taken into account. It is half blindness to equate whole Ezekiel 37 to current jewish state of Israel. State of Israel will expand vastly when the WHOLE house of Israel is risen, not just Judah. Northern tribes will return from what we considered dead.

  62. I do believe that the reason US can nowhere to be found in Gog and Magog war is because, it is possible that Iran and his allies will attack first the US; and will see to it that it will be caught unaware and will make US unable to respond in anyway, and then finish off Israel.

  63. Makes perfect sense. the US is doomed to irrelevance in order for the battle of Gog and Magog to happen. At least, I think. But technically, we have no idea. We could be seeing something that isn’t there. What if the events of Ezekial, and Revelation even, don’t occur for another millenia?

  65. Hi Joel or whoever reads this, I am 2/3’s of the way through watching a BBC documentary called The Power of Nightmares, it is available on google video in 3 parts. I would be interested to hear Joel’s opinion on the conclusions reached in this doco. Thanks for the great blog, keep up the good work.

  66. Greetings Joel,

I saw you speak at Wheaton Bible church earlier this evening. I would gladly have stayed another hour to hear more Q&A. I wanted to say that I enjoyed your presentation and while the church did invite you to speak about Muslims I was more interested in your discussions of Israel. I first saw you on a TV interview a few years ago with Zola Levitt. I love to hear about Jewish believers and the fact that you know the Prime Minister of Israel is pretty cool. I would have liked to ask you a question or two, but I didn’t want to stand at the microphone for a long time. I would have asked you what we as Christians can do to support Israel and befriend Jews. Your interpretation of the biblical prophecies concerning Israel was also fascinating and I’m sure I would find more info about that if I read one of your books or watched some more interviews. Well, thanks again for coming out to Wheaton.

  67. Joel,
I will be attending the Epicenter conference in Philadelphia with my 14 year old son. I am praying that God will bless the event and that in turn Israel would be blessed. It is very exciting to watch the events unfold; even more exciting to know that our redemption draws near. Thank you for standing with Israel!

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28

  71. Hey I don’t know if you actually read/respond to people’s responses or not Mr Rosenberg, but I just wanted to let you know that I’ve heard good things about your books and will soon be reading one for the first time.

I just got an advance copy of your Twelfth Imam book and I plan on writing my review on October 19th. 🙂

  72. I’m very confused and am wondering if someone to help clarify this for me. I have wondered for a while how someone who has studied Iran (as Mr. Rosenberg clearly has) could arrive at the conclusions he’s made in the book I’ve read (Inside the Revolution) and his media appearances. I assumed he must have had no experience in politics but I come to find out he was a former aid to Bibi and a Deputy Prime Minister. Next, when looking through stuff, I find that Mr. Rosenberg himself believes the (Christian) Messiah will return soon? Do I have this correct or no? A lot of what I have read in his works and interviews is that Ahmadinejad was so dangerous because he has this belief, is it possible Mr. Rosenberg also does?

    • commonsenseforeignpolicy, you are correct in that Mr. Rosenburg believes in the the return in the Christian Messiah, Jesus Christ, but this will happen in a very different way than what Ahmedinejad believes. Accordingly, Christ will appear in the sky and rapture the Church, those who have acknowledged their sin and put their faith and trust alone in Christ as their only Savior. Following the rapture, we are taught that there will be a seven year time of trouble, the tribulation. Following the tribulation, Christ will return for what is then considered to be His second coming. He will reign and rule on earth for 1000 years after which time he will establish his kingdom in a new Heaven and new Earth. Mr. Rosenburg is a follower of Christ. On the contrary, Ahmedinejad is a follower of Satan, the Devil. Ahmedinejad is looking for the return of the 12th Imam, which is not Christ at all. Ahmedinejad is looking for Satan personified, literally. This will not happen until the Tribulation.

  73. Hi Joel,

I just watched ABC’s 20/20 on ‘Islam: Questions and Answers’ as it generated much debate this morning in the Middle School Sunday School class I teach. I, quite unexpectedly, had students lining up and taking sides on whether or not Islam was a violent religion or if it had been simply misunderstood and misrepresented by certain highly visible individuals and media outlets. This wasn’t even the topic of my class today!

After watching the show it came across to me as a defense of Islam and a villianization of anyone who would suggest Islam is violent religion by nature. It also seemed to condemn the historical role the United States has played in the Middle East over the last century. Since it was clearly intended to be an education of the masses on what Islam is and is not I’m curious if you have any thoughts on the information provided.

  74. Hi Joel,

The following is from http://www.debka.com, which is “an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service”, who claim to have “…developed unmatched expertise on Iran.”

“The New York Times, followed by several other Western media and computer security specialists, this week reported a clue they believed they had found pointing to Israel as the source of the cyber attack on Iran: The word “myrtus” -Latin for the myrtle tree was found embedded in the Stuxnet code. They pointed out that the Hebrew for myrtle, Hadas, resembles Hadassah, the birth name of the Jewish Queen Esther of ancient Persia who is depicted in the Book of Esther as persuading the king to pre-empt an attack on the Jewish population.

Debkafile has an alternative interpretation: Branches of Hadas or myrtle are one of the Four Species featuring in Jewish ritual for Succoth, the Feast of Tabernacles, which occurred this year on Sept 22-29.”

  75. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT…the Vatican had not made an official statment that the Jews are not longer the chosen people. That is just plain wrong. The truth is the truth and not to be twisted for publicity sake.

“The Vatican spokesman, Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, said Oct. 25 that the final message of the Synod of Bishops reflected the opinion of the synod itself, while the remarks by Melkite Bishop Cyrille S. Bustros of Newton, Mass., were to be considered his personal opinion.”

With New Violence, More Christians Are Fleeing Iraq

    By Steven Lee Myers

QOSH, Iraq — A new wave of Iraqi Christians has fled to northern Iraq or abroad amid a campaign of violence against them and growing fear that the country’s security forces are unable or, more ominously, unwilling to protect them.

The flight — involving thousands of residents from Baghdad and Mosul, in particular — followed an Oct. 31 siege at a church in Baghdad that killed 51 worshipers and 2 priests and a subsequent series of bombings and assassinations singling out Christians. This new exodus, which is not the first, highlights the continuing displacement of Iraqis despite improved security over all and the near-resolution of the political impasse that gripped the country after elections in March.

It threatens to reduce further what Archdeacon Emanuel Youkhana of the Assyrian Church of the East called “a community whose roots were in Iraq even before Christ.”

Those who fled the latest violence — many of them in a panicked rush, with only the possessions they could pack in cars — warned that the new violence presages the demise of the faith in Iraq. Several evoked the mass departure of Iraq’s Jews after the founding of the state of Israel in 1948.

“It’s exactly what happened to the Jews,” said Nassir Sharhoom, 47, who fled last month to the Kurdish capital, Erbil, with his family from Dora, a once mixed neighborhood in Baghdad. “They want us all to go.”

Iraq’s leaders, including Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, have pledged to tighten security and appealed for tolerance for minority faiths in what is an overwhelmingly Muslim country.

“The Christian is an Iraqi,” he said after visiting those wounded in the siege of the church, Our Lady of Salvation, the worst single act of violence against Christians since 2003. “He is the son of Iraq and from the depths of a civilization that we are proud of.”

For those who fled, though, such pronouncements have been met with growing skepticism. The daily threats, the uncertainty and palpable terror many face have overwhelmed even the pleas of Christian leaders not to abandon their historic place in a diverse Iraq.

“Their faith in God is strong,” said the Rev. Gabriele Tooma, who heads the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, part of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Qosh, which opened its monastic rooms to 25 families in recent weeks. “It is their faith in the government that has weakened.”

Christians, of course, are not the only victims of the bloodshed that has swept Iraq for more than seven and a half years; Sunni and Shiite Arabs have died on a far greater scale. Only two days after the attack on the church, a dozen bombs tore through Sunni and Shiite neighborhoods in Baghdad, killing at least 68 people and wounding hundreds.

The Christians and other smaller minority groups here, however, have been explicitly made targets and have emigrated in disproportionate numbers. According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, these groups account for 20 percent of the Iraqis who have gone abroad, while they were only 3 percent of the country’s prewar population.

More than half of Iraq’s Christian community, estimated to number 800,000 to 1.4 million before the American-led invasion in 2003, have already left the country.

The Islamic State of Iraq, an iteration of the insurgent group Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, claimed responsibility for the suicidal siege and said its fighters would kill Christians “wherever they can reach them.”

What followed last month were dozens of shootings and bombings in Baghdad and Mosul, the two cities outside of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq. At least a dozen more Christians died, eight of them in Mosul.

Three generations of the Gorgiz family — 15 in all — fled their homes there on the morning of Nov. 23 as the killings spread. Crowded into a single room at the monastery in Qosh, they described living in a state of virtual siege, afraid to wear crosses on the streets, afraid to work or even leave their houses in the end.

The night before they left, Diana Gorgiz, 35, said she heard voices and then screams; someone had set fire to the garden of a neighbor’s house. The Iraqi Army arrived and stayed until morning, only to tell them they were not safe there anymore. The Gorgizes took it as a warning — and an indication of complicity, tacit or otherwise, by Iraq’s security forces. “When the army comes and says, ‘We cannot protect you,’ ” Ms. Gorgiz said, “what else can you believe?”

There is no exact accounting of those who have fled internally or abroad. The United Nations has registered more than 1,100 families. A steady flow of Christians to Turkey spiked in November to 243, an official there said.

The Kurdish Regional Government in northern Iraq offered itself as a haven and pledged to help refugees with housing and jobs. Many of those who fled are wealthy enough to afford rents in Iraqi Kurdistan; others have moved in with relatives; the worst off have ended up at the monastery here and another nearby, St. Matthew’s, one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world.

There have been previous exoduses, especially from Mosul. In October 2008, more than 12,000 Christians left after a wave of assassinations killed 14 Christians. In February of this year, more than 4,000 fled to the Kurdish-controlled region in Nineveh or to Syria after 10 Christians were killed. When violence ebbed after each exodus, many returned to their homes and jobs, though not all, leaving fewer and fewer Christians. By one estimate, only 5,000 of the 100,000 Christians who once lived in Mosul remain.

“I expect that a month from now not a single Christian will be left in Mosul,” Nelson P. Khoshaba, an engineer in the city’s waterworks, said in Erbil, where he joined a chaotic scrum of people trying to register with the local authorities there.

The displacement of Christians has continued despite the legal protections that Iraq’s Constitution offers religious and ethnic minorities, though Islam is the official state religion and no law can be passed contradicting its basic tenets.

Christians have a quota of 5 seats in the new 325-member Parliament, though little political influence. Christmas was declared a national holiday in 2008, though celebrations are muted, and in Kirkuk, a tensely disputed city north of Baghdad, Christmas Mass was canceled last year.

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, appointed by the president and Congress, said that the nominal protections for religious minorities in Iraq — including Christians, Yazidis and Sabean Mandeans, followers of St. John the Baptist — did little to stop violence or official discrimination in employment, housing and other matters. It noted that few of the attacks against minority groups were ever properly investigated or prosecuted, “creating a climate of impunity.”

“The violence, forced displacement, discrimination, marginalization and neglect suffered by members of these groups threaten these ancient communities’ very existence in Iraq,” the commission said in its latest annual report in May. Last week security officials announced the arrest of insurgents whom they said planned the attack on Our Lady of Salvation; those who actually carried it out died when Iraqi forces stormed the church. They offered few details, and a spokesman for the American military, which regularly joins Iraqi forces during such arrests, said he had no information on those arrested.

Archdeacon Emanuel said the government needed to do more to preserve a community that has been under siege in Iraq for decades — from the first massacre of Christians in Sumail in 1933 after the creation of the modern Iraqi nation to the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein to today’s nihilistic extremism that, in his words, has taken Islam hostage.

Invitations by European countries for Christians to emigrate following the attack, he said, would only hasten the departure of more, which “is not a solution.” Instead, the latest violence should give impetus to the creation of an autonomous Christian enclave in the part of Nineveh Province near here that is now under the control of the Kurdish region. That idea, though, has little political support in Iraq in Baghdad or Iraqi Kurdistan.

“What happened has been done repeatedly and systematically,” he said. “We have seen it in Mosul, in Baghdad. The message is very clear: to pluck Iraqi Christians from the roots and force them out of the country.”

Yasmine Mousa contributed reporting from Erbil, Iraq, and Sebnem Arsu from Istanbul.

  77. Referring to your November 16 interview on Christian World View Radio with David Wheaton:

The clip of President Obama in Cairo declaring that America and ISLAM overlap and share common principles was played. You were asked if this was a realistic assessment of ISLAM (note, you were NOT asked if this was a realistic assessment of “most Muslims.”)

Responding to the question about ISLAM, you answered the question that was asked, saying “yes, it is a realistic assessment” but instead referring to MUSLIMS without saying so. This answer was equivocating and leads people to believe that you believe that America and ISLAM have much in common. While you did acknowledge that the majority of Muslims are not jihadists, your answer was not direct and clear, and left room for confusion – in fact, left what might be the opposite impression of what you believe – I’m really not sure. Wouldn’t it be better to answer the question asked by saying “There is little in common between America and ISLAM. However, MUSLIMS, yadadada….”

I was disappointed in the clarity and accuracy of your reply. You can do beetter.

  78. Hey Joel, I have been researching Egypt in the scriptures and I found this….let me know what you think!
    Isaiah 19

    A Prophecy Against Egypt

    1 A prophecy against Egypt:

See, the LORD rides on a swift cloud

    and is coming to Egypt.

The idols of Egypt tremble before him,

and the hearts of the Egyptians melt with fear.

2 “I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian—

    brother will fight against brother,

    neighbor against neighbor,

    city against city,

    kingdom against kingdom.(emphasis added)

3 The Egyptians will lose heart,

    and I will bring their plans to nothing;

they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead,

    the mediums and the spiritists.

4 I will hand the Egyptians over

to the power of a cruel master,

and a fierce king will rule over them,”

declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.

    —————————————–

    Ezekiel 30

    A Lament Over Egypt

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:

    “‘Wail and say,

    “Alas for that day!”

3 For the day is near,

the day of the LORD is near—

    a day of clouds,

a time of doom for the nations.

4 A sword will come against Egypt,

and anguish will come upon Cush.[a]

When the slain fall in Egypt,

her wealth will be carried away

    and her foundations torn down.

5 Cush and Libya, Lydia and all Arabia, Kub and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.

6 “‘This is what the LORD says:

“‘The allies of Egypt will fall

and her proud strength will fail.

    From Migdol to Aswan

they will fall by the sword within her,

    declares the Sovereign LORD.

    7 “‘They will be desolate

    among desolate lands,

    and their cities will lie

    among ruined cities.

8 Then they will know that I am the LORD,

when I set fire to Egypt

and all her helpers are crushed.”

  79. Joel, I understand you are very busy, and I also do not want to be critical of you or your ministry in any way. I believe I speak for many flashtraffic devotees when I say I am; however, disappointed that blog comments are posted by folks seeking your input regarding a particular post and yet we do not receive any feedback from your ministry. Is it possible to dictate a reply to one of your team members to post?

  80. I wonder your thoughts on the claims of this article:

“The Muslim Brotherhood…are hardly behaving like revolutionaries…”The group, whose leadership consists mainly of doctors, lawyers and engineers, abandoned violence decades ago…In 2007…I met with several Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Cairo…one of the group’s senior leaders considered to be one of the group’s more progressive voices, stressed his organization had become fully committed to establishing democracy in Egypt…” -Paul Cruickshank

  81. Joel, do you believe the footage of the orb of light above the temple mount from 1/28/2011 is real or fake, and if found to be real… Does this fulfill any certain prophecy or would it fall into wonders and signs?

  82. Joel, I also wanted to ask, if that, orb/star looking (apparition?) above the temple mount could have been Rev 9:1? Could it explain the changes in the middle east, if say the Satan unlocked the pit? Would this be out of synch of how the prophecies are to be fulfilled? I’m not to learned in the book of Revelation.

    • misterransom,
I think we have to take into account just whom Satan is and what power if any he has in this world. As we all know; Satan has no power that God does not allow him to have (Job 1). Our war is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places ( Eph. 6:12). Satan blinds the minds of those who …believe not (II Cor. 4:4). Satan is trnsformed into an an angel of light (II Cor. 11:14). In latter days Satan will seduce men into believing “doctrines of devils” (I Tim. 4:1). Christ holds the keys of hell and of death (Rev. 1:18) Satan does not have the power or key to open the pit; only Christ has that key and will have an angel use it and cast Satan into it (Rev. 20:1-3).
Jesus warned against seeking physically manifested signs and wonders, but He said we as His disciples would be able to distinguish the signs of the times. Unbelievers seek physical manifestations of signs and Satan is more than obliged to give them “signs” (false signs) that they may believe a lie. Why do you think this “light” was manifest over the Dome of the Rock? I believe it to be a false sign given to the Muslims (from Satan) to embolden the Muslim’s expectancy of their Twelfth Imam.
It is hard for a true disciple of Christ to watch what is happening in the middle east and try to deny it’s Biblical significance to the fulfillment of scripture. When one takees into account that the muslim’s are soon expecting their Twelfth Imam and acting accordingly, the Jews are soon expecting their messiah (as they missed the Messiah the first time) and acting accordingly, and we as disciples of Christ are expecting His return we should be acting accordingly. Our Messiah, Jesus the Christ, the fulfillment of Isaiah 9:6 will come for His bride; making way for the false messiah, the twelfth imam, the antichrist to fulfill his God ordained part of prophecy.
Pray for the salvations of jews, muslims, and all nations of peoples for the time is indeed short.

  83. Joel,

Just wondering if you could make your videos accessible to the hard-of-hearing and/or deaf folk? (maybe a written transcript)

    Thank you for considering.

    Linda

  84. Hi Joel,

I heard that you’re going to be on Beck’s show today. I’ll look forward to it. In light of what’s happening with the shake-ups in the governments of the Middle East, I was wondering if you had seen Chuck Missler’s study of Psalm 83. It’s called the Magog Invasion, An Alternative View. It’s about what might happen before the Magog invasion. I found it interesting and wondered if you had any thoughts on it. I love your books!!

  85. Keep up the good work. Your insight is always well thought out and appreciated. God bless.

  87. Thanks for your Easter & salvation blog! Here is Mine – this week’s weekly Thinkable – No longer secret disciples.
    Silent, Secret, or Sold Out
Why would someone keep silence so that something that they believed would remain secret? Actually there are many reasons, like fear, peer pressure, and not wanting to appear different from those around you, as well as the high price to pay for being different. But it typically boils down to some form of intimidation. That’s how the Nazi’s did it, by making anyone who failed to join lockstep with them with the Hitler Youth movement, or who spoke criticism, or who was not loyal, fear a dreadful visit from the Gestapo. Even mild peer pressure at school can be enough to make “Jew boy,” and other ethnic slurs often foul the air of the school yards. Most of us have felt the pressure to keep silent, rather than expose ourselves to public ridicule for being different or for standing up for what is right, against the majority.
As an introduction to a well-known instance of peer pressure, let me ask you how public you are to let your neighbors, co-workers, and buddies know that you are a disciple of Christ? Do you really want them to know him too? Or are you so afraid that your reputation may suffer, that your fear trumps your care for your friends?
Finally we’re going today to look together at a secret disciple who “went public.” Joseph of Arimathea was a chief justice on the Sanhedrin. They’re the ones who sought and finally succeeded in putting Jesus to death. They could not tolerate His competition for the hearts of the Jewish people. He was too much competition in His healing relationships with them, as the Sanhedrin promoted control of their own “power-control” traditions and religion. Obviously, like his buddy Nicodemus (who came secretly at night for a consultation with Jesus), Joseph had been greatly influenced by Jesus’ miracles, His compassion that led to healings, and the authority in his speech. But he was not ready to open His mouth and be thrown out of the Sanhedrin. He preferred to enjoy his earthly riches and his influential position without any peer pressure.
    • Let’s detour a minute from Joseph of Arimathea to see what we can learn from Nicodemus in John chapter 3
    • Why would Nicodemus seek Jesus out a night? Same peer pressure reasons as Joseph of Arimathea
    • Later what does the Bible say about Nicodemus? He also was a SECRET disciple of Jesus
    • What main thing did Jesus say to Nicodemus? You must be born again (spiritually), i.e. you are supposed to be a master teacher but you are still in spiritual kindergarten
    • Did Nicodemus understand Jesus? Not at first; he thought Jesus was talking about physical birth, not spiritual birth
    • Why did Nicodemus not understand? Because humans understand ONLY what God reveals to them by His spirit (1 Corinthians 1:18-25 explains more fully)
    • What will it take for you to understand spiritual things, like how to go to heaven? God looks at our hearts. Only when He sees us willing to obey what He shows us, will He then reveal His will and way to us, and how to go to heaven, like He did with Nicodemus in John 3
    • This is like your boss who gives the main jobs to those he knows he can depend on to do a good job
    • How many know that you do not truly know God personally today? How many do NOT know that if you died tonight you would then be with Christ in heaven?
    • Review the Persian Proverb “3 states of knowing:” Although we think we know, we all are born in State 1: Not knowing that we do not know; When we see someone living for Jesus, with Jesus living inside as Lord and Savior we see something attractive that we want but don’t have – that is State 2: Knowing that we do not know; When we yield to God and invite Jesus into our life as our personal Lord and savior, He affirms us and we KNOW we are on our way to heaven – that is State 3: Knowing that we do know; (inner assurance) Refer to 1 John 5:12-13
Just like the hardened Centurion who couldn’t help but proclaim, “surely this was the son of God,” similarly Jesus’ unique demeanor under all the stresses of the crucifixion challenged, strengthened, and enabled Joseph to go straight to Pilot, and very publicly request Jesus’ dead body for burial in his unused tomb. Having been silent so long, how easy it would have been to continue in that familiar undetected mode! But this was his “moment of truth” to step forward and be counted, to sellout to Jesus, and support His unique claims that needed to be confirmed, no matter the cost.
So how about you? Isn’t it about time for you to sellout and stand up for Jesus? Like the 3 Hebrew children in the king’s furnace, If you stand up, you’ll stand out, and you won’t stand alone!

  88. Joel,

With all of the unrest going on in the Arab countries around the world. Do you think that this vs could come into play? As this plays out over there I see several countries without leaders, just begging for someone to come in and lead them out of thier current problems. The 12th Imam would be perfect? I’m new to your blog so you may have allready answered this one.

Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

    Your fellow labourer,
    Richard

  89. Joel,

Great post on the Royal Wedding. Incredible!

Considering that 1-2 billion people (1/3 of the world!) watched the wedding… Do you think it is also notable that Jesus advised his followers that:

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage…”

  90. Re: Osama Bin Laden now in helll.
Are you sure Joel? Burial at sea ????? What willl the world think if we see this guy again?

Revelation 13:3 (New King James Version)
And I saw one of his heads as if it had been MORTALLY wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.

    • davem234 – I had the same thought about Revelation 13. I think it’s comforting either way. If that scripture is a prophetic statement about Osama returning, then it reconfirms the bible’s truth and provides us with a tremendous opportunity to tell people about the reason for the hope that is in us. And if it isn’t about Osama/Islam, then we may have more time to tell our friends and family about what the Creator God has done in Jesus Christ.

  91. First, the Messiah already returned, and since 2008 to the extent of conquoring the Whore-queen of Babel with the same means, the conquored Beast, on which back she is sitting.

So far we have seen many elites that abused power (= meaning of “Whore”), compromised. Wikileaks, Jasmin revolutions, Japan melt down, bank rescues, to name only a few.

But was there one individual, raising the finger to the sky: Messiah is throwing back man’s (scientists) poor judgements over and for its posterities, onto their poor judgements themselves?

No because people expecting the Messiah expect a person of flesh and blood. They do not expect instead that Messiah is a purely abstract set of spiritual wisdom doctrines, that set foot on earth by means of the brains of Simon-Cephas, Mark-John Zebedee, Saul-Paul and a handful of others, as a new movement within Essenism, that was officially outlawed to preach in Judea (Acts 5), by the Sanhedrin.

But what was then purely abstract, if returning, shall be even more refined as set of spiritual wisdom doctrines, or mindset of those capable to distinguish what is happening from a spiritual understanding.

The work carried out here and elsewhere by Joel, deserves high praise, then before one is ready for spiritual understanding of scripture, a thorough disgesting like a meal for the brain (Mannah, bread multiplication, breaking of bread, Beth Lechem), of the texts as they are, is required of course. One can swallow without tasting or proper digesting, so without using the jaws and tongue to do their job and not know what one has eaten. It is the same with scripture. It is educating the jaws and tongue, to distinguish one taste from another, and appreciate the richness of tastes, scents and how they react among each other.

Yet the real eating only begins with such labors of the schooling of the jaws, in this case the jaws of the brain, the spiritual analysis.

And that is hearing the Law. Paul explains what makes hearing the law, different from first possession of Torah. This is done in Galatians 4.21>>.
He goes one step further than Philo Judaeus in his allegorical approach of scripture as symbolical comparisons, in which birth stories express not the birth of a child, but of brain childs, or more refined spiritual wisdom or knoiwledge.

Applied to the birth stories in the gospels, Jesus becomes not a person but thus a very specific spiritual mindset, of how to appreciate reality, and in particular the scriptures on reality. Each such birth stories in Torah and gospels, should be regarded then of no less fabric as for instance, the works of Thomas Kuhn on The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.

But whereas Thomas Kuhn explains in everyday speech or the language game of the scientist, scripture does the same, yet in spiritual tongue, thus by symbolical comparisons.

This can and must also be applied to understand scripture about any next end of days or endtime or change of aeons.

Then the signs are not only there, mankind is close to such majestic change of tides, but Messiah has already returned to the extent of running the show on all fronts.

Here I seem the only one to have spotted so, and entirely based on labor with what scripture provided, for their spiritual understanding, in line of what Paul explained in Galatians 4.21>>. It is there that also the distinction is made between Jerusalem below and Jerusalem above.

Jerusalem below this time, is rather the christian world in articulation with judaism or Israel. It should be laid to rest. Nobody should interfere with Israel or the jews electing to live there. Who does interfere has no spiritual understanding of scripture. But the true Jerusalem is not a place on the map. It is a mental attitude. It is only there that one can identify Messiah. And how Messiah relates like Logos, with all major current events. Logos or the mental level of the Gaia framework of Newton’s 3rd postulate (sum actions + sum reactions = 0 or constant), means one poor judgement over others, living and not yet born, will be counteracted always with equal judgement one way or another in the future. Or in the old terms: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Logos will remain the same, regardless of any change at t1, t2, t3, t(n), we only do not have the precise equation to know the number.

For that reason, it is adviced: do not judge others, because any judgement of others, even with consequences for unborn, is a judgement of oneself. That is what Newton’s postulate defines. Yet no scientist acts consequently. Japan’s melt down has shown. Bank rescues have shown. Euro troubles with Greece and Ireland have shown. Central Banks, failing to protect customers against Iceland Landesbanki, have shown what their know how is really made up of as judgement. Poor judgement, that even unborns carry the burdens of.

Now what this Beast, Ishmael, serpent, Satan, 666, Whore of Babel, Judas is what all of mankind is mentally being tested by and confronted by, as a fabric running through all humans alike, whatever the race or culture, is simply: judgement shall never be taking advantage of others lack of cognitive abilities. No abuse of cognitive (dis)advantage to raise oneself over any other.

The contrary is happening all over the globe. What rules among most humans, is the outside, the surface. One the surface everything is made to shine. But under that same surface goes something so ugly, one has to keep polishing the outside, with all kind of tricks, like the scientitst way of statistics, not to become clear.

All education is geared up for this great polishing of the surface, to disguise the truths of what one is actually doing.

Everywhere where this is being fundamentally and elementary exposed, there is rudimentary Messiah or Christ. So in the whistleblowing department. Critical science.

Here too: Paul’s Galatians 4.21>>. Extended here to our days, and how to throw out the fishing nets in Paul’s way to catch fish in scripture, instead of the plain way of the letter and fleshly meaning instead of the spiritual meaning.

All of Revelations about the endtime, must be related to what happened to AD70 events, the destruction of Jerusalem. Then it becomes clear how descriptions can be translated to our current days and scales. It could be done here. But why do so, when nobody is really interested. Then it becomes poor judgement to explain what only properly trained minds, shall be able to discover by true appetite, instead of throwing pearls to spiritually uncleansed.

The rising of the dead may be just around the corner, but not necesserily on this planet, or in this universe, but any of billions of others equipped to replace all what went before.

Genesis begins with a beginning. Not THE beginning. So nobody needs to take notice of what is already happening, in connection to life on earth, and only not for the mortals to see or appreciate at this time.

Honesty is what matters. Not polishing the outside surfaces, to prevent dishonesty or abuse of cognitive distans to become visible at the outside or become exposed. Yet all education systems now in place, have the reversed gearing, setting all things up for dishonesty or the increase of abuse of cognitive (dis)advantage, for one over the other.

  92. Joel,
There is only one comment I have for most of those who cover the topic of Gog and Magog in prophesy, and I hope it does not apply in this case. That is, comparing Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation, the battle of Gog and Magog happens after the reign of Messiah for 1000 years. Now, there may well be smaller “Gog and Magog” type incidents along the way, but none that will compare to that rather large battle. I personally tend to see the next major event to be fulfilled as that of Psalm 83, which does in fact include essentially the same players as the “Gog and Magog” event. Would you care to respond?

  96. Joel…

It amazes me your audacity and reckless disregard; you enjoy taking liberties, don’t you? Why are you as those you hate and wish for the non-existence of Islam as a whole? It’s one thing to condemn radicals on all sides, which you don’t… you condemn Islam and all of Islam.

I think you should be examined for Cognitive Dissociation; you have a really bad case of it.

As to your interpretation of the Bible; I note that you do not differentiate between practicing Jews (real Jews) and non-practicing (fake ones). Most of us know that the majority of Israelis are atheist; but you make no mention of this at all.

All people are blessed, and all land is holy.
    End your lies.

This need to be above others, outside the law (even Jewish and Christian laws) is dramatically obvious to those ‘with eyes to see’. When they say ‘never again’ I am supposed to translate that to ‘never again to Jews’?

By the way Gog and Magog are already released; Islam knows this… if you had an ounce of credibility you would at least educate your reader’s to what Islam says, but for obvious reasons you cannot. Gog and Magog are ‘dull care’… and that is what you have for Israel’s neighbors and people who don’t support the zionist agenda.

Zionism and people like you who endorse it at the cost of all truth are the most dangerous of all; it is the greatest threat to world peace and 110% against all known Abrahamic laws.

The real danger for Israel is zionism… they are opposed.

Start telling the truth, for once.
And enjoy your temporary kingdom, Joel:)

  97. Ciao Joel,

I really like your book though I haven’t bought one yet (I read some of the book reviews on the Internet and I found it very interesting). I just want to know if you also believe in Bible Code by Michael Drosnin? I’m thinking if the one he described on his book (and some of them indeed happened) and years are somehow connected and inter-related, then that means that we are now really in the “End of Days”.

Hope you could shed some light. Thank you so much!

    In Christ,
    Michael

I have read your books and learned so much.
Thank you for your insights, books, and articles.
Thank you for the Epicenter video and notes on the book of Joel. I am studying and sharing that book. I wish I could have been in Israel at the conference.

    I am awake.

Blessings and peace to you and to all those who share the faith.

  99. Hi Joel,
I have a historical proof on how the Lord used me to bring down the oil price from July 16,2008. I warned people that it will go up again after two years and it did go above $100 now. But I want to tell you that if we work together, we can bring it down again. Will you? Please reply me with a phone I can call u.

  102. Hello Joel

In response to why the Church at large has not stepped up to the plate regarding the worlds conditions both economically and spiritually is a simple one. The answer can be found in Revelation Chapter Three, whereby Yeshua Jesus stands at the door knocking but no one is listening. We have become rich and in need of nothing. To quote Dr. Robert Heidler in his book The Messianic Church Arising; “we must repent of the American mindset of tolerating personal peace and affluence, with Jesus being presented as the means to make us comfortable”.

We must repent for our failure to perceive and pursue the fullness of the Church. Church is often perceived as a social club, or a place to go and “get some of God” once a week. This mentality is wrong. We all must submit to training for the work of the ministry. We have seen numerous false Revivals’s as a direct result of chasing signs and wonders without understanding the fullness of our responsibilities as Christians. There are more denominations vying for position as Pastor’s have propagated the “one” man leadership band. In Acts, there was no elevation, no respecting of persons, elder’s and deacon’s were about the business of raising up new leader’s not followers. The Church of Acts was centered around an apostolic agenda whereby there was less focus on buildings, corporate mindsets, numbers and book and CD sales. If the Jews were ever accused of rejecting their own Messiah, the Gentiles have sold Him in the marketplace. Rather than freely offer His gospel for the winning of souls, we have instead, sold His death, burial and resurrection for profit and gain. Many of our so-called leading Pastors have been preaching a self-oriented “me-me” gospel. A new message where we can get what’s coming to us, be all that we can be, and use the Word of God like an ATM machine, give God ten bucks and get back double your money or more. False doctrines like “Word Of Faith, speaking material possessions into existence, calling things that are not as though they were, have helped to cheapen and render the true gospel meaningless and no longer relevant. The prosperity doctrines completely fly in the face of Jesus authentic mission statement. Where are the “storehouses” set up in Acts so that all could benefit in difficult times. The Pastors have taken these for themselves and heaped riches upon their bosoms while the congregations are in want. James 1:27 clearly states that pure and undefiled religion before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

We must repent for abandoning Jewish responsibilities. God has called us to help restore the root, as her (Israel) re-engrafting will mean life from the dead for the Gentile’s. We need deeds of love and kindness, intercession, and giving to promote her salvation. When we see the Messianic Church arising and coming into proper, apostolic, prophetic, intercessory alignment, we will see a sweeping move of God across the earth.

Many of our Church leader’s today have forgotten that the “branches” are attached to the root, not the other way around. If we had maintained a close tie and modeled our Churches like the Churches at Acts, we would have kept the focus on Christ and not ourselves. Where is the power of the gospel in terms of healing, raising the dead and casting out demons? The Holy Spirit in many cases has also been left aside. There is no doubt in many believer’s minds, that the Holy Spirit up until now has been pulled back because of the continual abuses where the Church is concerned. We cannot continue as Keith Green once pointed out—to sleep in the light. America is now being awakened and we will soon have a “golden” opportunity to become the Church.

  103. My husband and I are so excited to read your blog today! We just finished reading “A Time to Betray” together last week. As we finished, we couldn’t help but bow and pray for Reza so that he and his family would find Jesus Christ. His life and story touched our hearts, and we felt so blessed by his heart-felt prayers of searching for truth in the book. The true God has answered. We wish we know Reza’s blog address. Perhaps we will be able to find it.

  105. In my humble opinion the real concern regarding Islamic aggression is the Jizya. The Jizya is that tax imposed on citizens of lands under the control of the Islamic Caliphate who refuse to convert to Islam but wish to live. Those who pay this tax are called Dhimmis. To me this is the mark of the beast, to pay this tax is to take the mark. I base this on scriptures:

    Daniel 11
20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.

I could be wrong. Verse 25 seems to suggest what is called the Arab spring. I would really value any comments. TY to Joel and all who love Jesus.

  107. Joel,
I’ve recently been studying the book of Ezekiel. I know you believe the war of Gog and Magog occurs before the rapture and not at the end of the millennial kingdom as some believe. Can you tell me how you interpret Revelations 20:1-10? I’d really like to hear your thoughts.

Can you tell me when we will see the new non-fiction “IMPLOSION”? Can hardly wait. Your work is so important to me because of all the events DAILY around the world. You explain everything so well, you bring Bible prophecy into perspective. Thanks Joel, and YHWH bless you always. Love from Canada.

  111. I work in the grain trade and was interesting to note that Iran has bought quite a bit of wheat this week. They even bought for the first time in years from the U.S. Stockpiling for a conflict? Just a thought. Here is Reuters story:

Iran buys 300,000 T Russian, Kazakh wheat – RTRS
HAMBURG, March 9 (Reuters) – Iran’s state grains agency the Government Trading Corporation of Iran (GTC) has bought at least 300,000 tonnes of wheat this week largely from Russia and Kazakhstan, European traders said on Friday.
This continued a major surge in Iranian purchases in past weeks.
The purchases were spread between major international trading houses and involved at least five panamax shiploads, traders said. The wheat was largely for April shipment.
“It is very hard to assess the total volume as the Iranians are contacting the trading houses for individual talks rather than issuing tenders,” one European trader said. “I would not be surprised if 400,000 to 500,000 tonnes was bought but it is impossible to say.”

  112. WOW. I just listened to your testimony story. Amazing stuff. Have you ever read the 4th section of the Urantia Book or the Papers in the book devoted to what Jesus did during Holy Week? Of all human knowledge, that which is of greatest value is to know the religious life of Jesus and how he lived it. Happy Holy Week. Love to all.

  113. Joel. It is interesting the timing of your discussion in the e-mail I received today, April 17, 2012. 115. Hi Joel,

I’ve been receiving your emails for quite some time now, and have read one of your books, so I’m pretty familiar with your theological and personal stance on various issues.

I certainly respect the passion you bring to expressing your concerns, and I would not be one to question your conscious motives, but having said that I will say that there is another concern, in addition to the many you bring, that deeply concerns me, and it has to do with what I would refer to as the “Apocalyptic Hysterical” viewpoint of life and biblical interpretation.

Let me say right outright that I’m far more a follower of David Chilton, et al, or those who hold to a Post Millennial viewpoint of biblical apolcalypticism. I’m highly suspicious that those who hold to PreMillennialism (ie. the Rapture hysteria viewpoint) do so more because it appeals to an emotional reactive escapistic approach to life than because it is truly biblical. Each new news headline becomes yet one more justification for emotional over reaction and fuels an ever increasing predictive knee jerk warning of impending divine judgment.

I’m not saying God isn’t concerned with today’s headlines, and the decay taking place in our culture, but to factor that into an emotional appeal for action based on an overly inflated fear of apocalyptic doom is to run the risk of hyping believers into activity rather than simply appealing to them to take these headlines as calls to prayer. We need to be praying for our declining culture for sure, but to move from there to developing a holocaustic theology of divine judgment is to make the same mistake that many “would be” reactive theologians have made throughout history.

Is God going to judge the US or the world? Surely so at some point, and in fact as He allows culture to decline without imposing His divine will upon it to stop its decline is a form of His judgment already. As a culture declines its quality of life declines and little by little its perversions destroy itself. This is one of the natural outcomes of sin and is a judgment in and of itself. You can’t play with fire and not get burned eventually. This is happening at an alarming rate for sure. But to develop some apolcalyptic over reactive theology of divine judgment seems inconsistent with true biblical revelation concerning the time we live in.

I do not buy into the Hal Lindsey, et al, reactive theology. I don’t believe we can develop any kind of predication of the end of the world, rapturistic theology of God’s impending judgment, etc.. I don’t think we have any idea what God is going to do, and I don’t believe the Old Testament or the book of Revelation gives us any kind of time line indication of the end of the world. This, it seems to me, and to David Chilton and many others, is an errant biblical position to take on apolcalypticism. It is great for selling books, for stirring up hysteria, and utilizes fear to motivate some unwitting folks towards some desired action, but fear and hysteria ultimately give way to skepticism when year after year the impending doom never arrives, and God’s merciful grace continues to work within every human culture. God seems far less hysterically motivated than sooo many modern theologians give Him credit for. His mercy seems to be far more expansive than He is often given credit for.

So Joel, and many others, is there any possibility that you need to step back and take a deeper look at your rapture/judgment theology and see if just maybe it has more to do with an emotional predisposition to read into Scripture that which does not exist so as to create a ministry that has its own security and significance built into it for its devotees, rather than honestly admitting that we really have no idea whether we are nearing some catastrophic judgment or simply watching a culture in decline.

My plea is undoubtedly that of one crying in the wilderness to abandon modern hysteria based apocalypticism in the face of its many “ministry creating and finance creating” benefits but my prayer is that the Church will awaken to the error of this approach and rethink its theology in this area. Then we can address our culture more directly on the basis of “this cultural decline is destroying us right now” rather than “look out culture God is just about to send dramatic judgment on you so you’d better repent quickly before He does.” I don’t know if He is going to, but I’m quite certain there is no revelatory stream of scriptures we can piece together to predict that He is. I think He is judging America right now by mercifully giving them all the rope they desire to hang themselves with their pursuits of hedonism and evil. Each day manifests His judgment of permission towards evil. There is a way that seems right to a man but the end of it is death. We are seeing this death all around us…we don’t need a theology of hysteria to motivate us to pray…all we need to do is look at His judgments all around us.

Oh well…I know this comment won’t likely get much attention but it seemed like something I should bring up anyway…

  116. Everyone….About the whole PUTIN visiting Israel thing. What if he is going to actually bring about peace between Israel and her neighbors. He’s going from there to Palestine, to Jordan, and who knows if he’ll visit Iran and others. Egypt is having elections this weekend and could possibly choose their leader so who’s to say he want visit there as well. Russia pretty much controls the Middle East and if anybody can bring Peace between the Middle East and Israel it’s Russia with the USA tagging along possibly throwing in the Arms deal for Russia to make this Happen. HMMMMMMMMMM……

    Just an Idea!!!

  117. Of course he Mr. Rosenberg doesn;t know if America is mentioned in the bible be cause he does not STUDY it. The bible is not to be read like one of his novels. The USA is the lamb-like beast with two horns that speaketh as a dragon. The Harlot which sits upon many waters is Papal Rome. That same little horn the uprooted three horns (Heruli, Vandals, Ostrogoths) the last being in the year 538AD. It would rule for 1260 years before receiving its deadly wound. 1978, Napolean sent his general into Rome and arrested the pope were he died in captivity. After this the prophet saw the lamb-like beast. American was declared a power and recognized in the year 1798. It was lamb-like (Jesus represent the lamb) and would speak as a dragon (Satan is the dragon, that old serpent). A nation “speaks” by passing laws which it has cyrrently been doing to restrict american freedom. Once this “great” nation passes a National Sunday Law (now that is a book worth reading) then all who obey then law of Rome will receive her mark. The Mark of the Beast; sunday obeservace. Rather than receiving the Seal of God; sabbath (Saturday) observance. This man is not qualified to speak about biblical prophecies. How sad that most are biblically ignorant!!!!

  118. Joel – I echo your perspectives as I feel the Lord leading me. We sometimes match prophetic scriptures – see my blog when you have time – bibleprophecywatchman.blogspot.com. Things are happening and happening quickly. We must prepare our hearts and confess/repent of our sin … corporately and individually … daily! Israel is the apple of God’s eye and is the center of the earth in Bible Prophecy. Keep watch!
    Blessings to you, Phil

  120. I definitely agree that we need another Great Awakening. It is critical to any turnaround of our country. Without the voice of the righteous being heard and publicly so, we have no chance of recovery as Joel has repeatedly said. One bright light in the near future is the announcement of America for Jesus 2012 which will be held in Philadelphia at the end of September. We need to pray for this and attend for those who can to let our voice be heard loud and clear. I pray the media will not hide this or cover it up!

  121. Why is it that we can never reply to anything Joel posts? Or are his posts like commands from Heaven? Irrifutable? Omnipotent? I am a fan, or was, until now, because it is such a one-way street, his proclamations: output only, no input to the originator. Until now, I have read and agreed with Mr. Rosenberg’s views, revered his grasp of Christianity; however his stance against health care for Americans is nothing short of irresponsible, senseless drivel. Most other western countries have the public health system for its citizens like that of Canada’s, where NO citizen need go broke trying to get healing for themselves or their families; no person charged for every doctor’s visit; no needy human being dying because they can’t afford a doctor or care; and all those things happen regularly in the great US because of views like this one of Joel Rosenberg. It is a topic he should not have pontificated on. I hold him in much less respect. Feel sad, like someone dear to me has died…

  124. One other reason for Jews to read the New Testament, particularly in Hebrew: to my knowledge, there are no other Jewish works that were produced that survive, from about 100BC to 100AD. To choose not to read the New Testament is to deny yourself a window of insight into the lives of Jewish people (your ancestors) during this period.

  125. I’ve been doing a typical study that lead me back to Dan. Chapter 2 and 9. I’m learning also that I have a tendency to westernized scripture instead keeping Israel-centric. Anyways, concerning the statue in the dream we’ve been taught that the legs and the 10 toes which are made of iron/clay is the Roman Empire. Now the Roman Empire didn’t conquer the whole Persian Empire (Susa and I think couple other cities) which represents the part of the statue and they made some infrastructures along the way for their troop also and so forth and they did destroy the area at the same time. It seems that the scriptures says that the statue will be destroy all at once and there will not be anything left, if I understand it which I don’t understand! Now the Islamic Caliphate did go through the area and destroy region at the same time and they doing it again. My question is, are we looking at the wrong empire? The old Aramaic meaning for arab is mixing – which the mixing of iron and clay. Maybe I’m in the left field!

    Thanks

  126. Joel, I’ve read all your books and find myself generally in strong agreement with your perspectives and I applaud your willingness to go against the grain on issues. However, I have to comment on your post regarding Joe Paterno. You are just repeating the very weak links between Joe and the heinous crimes of Jerry Sandusky. Even the Attorney General of Pennsylvania exonerated Joe in their investigation, but given his high profile stature he draws all the attention. I also find it interesting that as the one person who properly raised the issue to campus authorities he is the one who is being condemned. Yes, that is correct, Joe Paterno was the person who raised the issue to campus security who had jurisdiction. If he really intended to cover something up, why would he himself report the issue to the correct jurisdictional body? Jerry Sandusky’s crimes are reprehensible and my heart grieves for the young lives impacted by his acts, but throwing out the legacy of an educator who spent his life helping young people and contributing philanthropically to Penn State and higher learning does not serve justice.

I have come to expect higher ethical standards from you in your reporting and to not just jump on the bandwagon because it is the popular thing to do.

  127. RE: the article about Michael Ben Ari tearing up a Hebrew copy of the NT

This article reminds me of how I 30 years ago sent a HEBREW NT to a Jewish lawyer, a Mr. Green. He reacted the same way as this Michael Ben Ari. Was my attempt foolish? Imaging how foolish Victor Kalisher must feel (I’m speaking from the World’s point of view.)
This Michael Ben Ari is an unsaved religious Jew, as are most of the members of the Knesset. If he was saved he would recognize Christ as the Messiah.
His reticence to follow the light is the result of bias. He sees the NT as darkness. Hitler did not only kill 6,000,000 Jews he doomed all subsequent living Jews to darkness.
What ought to happen NOW in light of this going public, there ought to be a united response from Christianity admitting we were wrong― that we overreacted to allegations against the Jews (calling them Christ killers) without finding out for ourselves if the allegations were true….the same thing Michael Ben Ari is doing.

In actual fact the NT reveals an extraordinary truth. If we who say we are following the light given us (the Jews were given the light of the OT) have not actually read carefully the light we have been given, we wind up publically admitting we are hypocrites. Ben Ari has never read the OT for himself. If he had, he would have been convicted of the truth that the Messiah is coming. Then to be consistent with his Hebrew belief system, he ought to be checking out every claim of Messiah’s return. The orthodox Jews ought to be the first to read the NT, as it was to the Jew that God gave the responsibility. (ISAIAH 42:6 & 49:6)

Michael Ben Ari is not taking his primary responsibility seriously. He probably thinks his responsibility is to the preservation of the Jewish state. This may be true…but the primary responsibility of the JEWS is to shine the light of the coming Messiah onto the Gentiles. This
“crisis” simply shows that those who claim to be JEWS are NOT REALLY searching for the Messiah― else they would seriously search that NT to see if He’s in there or NOT.

  130. Joel, I have been following your ministry and I have been praying to the Lord for discernment with what and who I listen to these days for obvious reasons. I Opened up my bible two days ago on Thursday in the morning and I had been praying for my marriage and other needs before I opened it asking God to show me what I needed to learn and guide me through my day. I expected the Lord to show me something pertaining to my attitude or something i needed to work on. I immediately opened it with no hesitation or page flipping to Ezekiel 38 THE PROPHESY AGAINST GOG I have been going through some amazing personal struggles with my spiritual walk and God truly is a God who does miracles even today when we cry out to him for help and “open our eyes and ears” and follow His still small voice 🙂 He Loves us! I went through the day and decided to read the bible and spend time alone with the Lord again in the afternoon. I took a minute to calm my mind and opened up the bible to seek the Lord’s wisdom and did the same thing I did in the morning. Not page flipping, just opened it up without hesitation and directly in front of me was Isaiah chapter 31 WOE TO THOSE WHO RELY ON EGYPT and a roll of Thunder exactly at the same time IMMEDIATELY happened. That just doesn’t happen, especially in one day. He truly is an Awesome God and Lord Most High. The roll of thunder happened to me a month to a month in a half before too while I was doing a Beth Moore bible study. At exactly the same time as I read “a rain shower reminds us of God” it poured down rain as I began to read that exact sentence. WOW is all I can say. It’s God’s power at work, not my own. We can’t limit ways He speaks to us because He is limitless. Jesus deserves all our Praise and devotion. He is the God who helps the weak 🙂

Thank you for your ministry, and your valuable insight. I continue to keep you in my prayers. God bless.

  132. Dear Mr. Rosenberg,
I have both heard you speak and read many of your books. However, I would have to say that failure in discipleship is only part of the reason the church has failed, and perhaps a big part. In speaking with some my fellow pastors, I was alarmed to find that there is a huge lethargy among church leaders toward the situation in our nation. The dominiant oppinion is, ” we don’t need that to worship God” or our nation is to big and the system will never let that happen” or (and this is the shocker) ” Christians have their place and they need to stay in it”. Whoe Nelly!!! II as frankly alarmed. You’re right though about not investing ourselves, but we must not only invest ourselves in the next generation, but the whole process of government and involve ourselves in active citizenship. Over all, I think we as a church has become so used to luxury and comfort, we have lost our first love… Christ. I have visited other countries and seen Christian persecution first hand. The American Church does not seem to have a clue what is happening. Having said that, keep up the great work of the Lord. TJ

My dear friend Freddy Winter in California (Maranatha Church) talks about you so much, and has told me things you do in regards to ministering over in the Middle East…the missions, and everything. You are one anointed man of God! May the Lord bless you abundantly in all you do, and be with you always in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior!

  135. good day how about the prophecy of a nation coming from the east going to the west which will glorify God in the last days(Malachi 1:11, Zechariah8:7)? Do you know that this prophecy is currently taking place also?

  136. I agree we need to be in prayer for our country and it’s future. I also believe we need more. Read II Kings chapter 23. We need a Josiah. Of all of the kings of Israel, none demonstrated a more committed love for God than Josiah. He went to the house of the Lord, heard the scriptures
, then acted upon what he heard. He purged the country of all that was not of God. We need to fast and pray and considering how bad things are in this country, we need a Josiah…DESPERATELY.

  137. Our country was established by Godly people who understood that they needed a firm foundation in God – this is self-evident by anyone open to the reality who studies the people who came here seeking the freedom to live their lives free of government imposed religion. which replaced God’s truth and God’s word with the religion of rulers. The founders gave their all to be free of tyrannical governments at great sacrifice to themselves for the sake of their children – ourselves. Most were gone by the time the United States was completely free.

The founders knew and did their best to cement the foundations in God, understanding that governments had a tendency over time to reject God’s authority and set themselves up as the ultimate rulers of the people. Thus they tried to write down as their heritage, preservation of firm allegiance to God as the author of life and liberty who gave the people their freedoms. God gave authority to government to be earthly protectors of life and liberty under Himself. Thus we became “One Nation Under God.”

In our own time, we have seen the founders fears fulfilled as the present government has decided to erase God from our fundamental laws as it writes new documents within which references to life and liberty are defined by themselves instead of God. They have arrogantly dismissed “One Nation Under God” as unnecessary to be replaced by “One Nation Under Obama and his party.”

Masses of people have embraced the end of God, as our guide, because God places demands on the way men are to live. We know them the “Ten Commandments” and in our own history, men and women agreed that human law should follow this God given guide for life. In our day, we demanded that this guide be removed from public view because we had passed laws to kill innocent people [the 5th commandment] and embrace unnatural sex [the 6th commandment] for God given marriage. We voided the other 8 as well, in practice and law. Looking up at the original commandments burned our eyes and consciences – not because we sin, which we all do – but because we allowed our government to “legalize” the worst sins. We like Adam and Eve have to cover our nakedness and try and hide from God, and some even said: “God damn America” as if it were the cry of freedom.

So we burn the map of life [the Bible] given to us by God and arrogantly embrace a new map from government written in pencils equipped with erasers so that even as we travel – stumbling over places where the map shows new roads which are little more than ruts trying to find the way. Government is incapable on its own power to show us the way – We are Lost without God – we will die leaving our children alone in a wilderness we have created without God – to our everlasting shame. Wake up, America time has run out!

    • I can see this is a right-leaning site. I am dismayed. You lean for the 1%, betraying your own selves and those you love. I beg you lean for those who reflect the middle, for there is where we must be in order for all to compromise, in order to be fair to all. which is democracy and what American’s founders REALLY wanted!

      • Can one choose to run towards the truth without leaning one way or another? Is it possible for an open minded person such as yourself to research the statements made on this site; using source material and not relying on outlets such as The Young Turks, etc.; and discover for yourself the truth or inaccuracy within?

Or, would you prefer to remain in the dark regarding the so-called “99%,” knowing and believing only what you are told?

I think that you are far too intelligent for this last option. God bless.

  138. To Sandeesunicorn and Virginia Brown: This is what the Lord says about people like you: Revelation 3:15-16 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” I will pray for you. God bless. This nation was built on Godly principles…there is no lukewarm in the word of God. We can not take the Bible out of context. God makes Himself perfectly clear about this attitude all throughout the Bible. Love involves correction.

  139. Thank you dear Joel for everything you do, and for your devout dedication to our Lord. I will always fully support you in all that you do, for you are about our Father’s business. God bless you!

  140. Joel,

I have found your blog very interesting over these past years after reading your book the Epicenter. I came across an interesting piece while reading Fox news involving German Parliament members who have recently traveled to Iran. I have been wondering how Germany would become involved with Iran and it seems that they value the economic benefits of trading with the Iranian regime. I also noticed that they had sent troops to Beruit some time back for one reason or another as well.

Keep up the good work that you are doing,

    T Trier

  141. Joel,

Regarding your article today about Iran converting part of its uranium to fuel rods and Netanyahu indicating that war is less imminent, I read an interesting article by Dick Morris dated October 22, 2012 titled “Iran Deal: The October Surprise” that may be a better explanation of Iran’s recent actions.

Iran could be attempting to influence the U.S. elections, and an announcement of peace breaking out in the Middle East a few days before the U.S. election would of course be beneficial to the current president. The article has the following quote from a middle east expert: “anonymous source highly placed in Iran’s regime,” warns that “once Khamenei receives Obama’s guarantees, he will authorize an announcement by Iran on a solution to the nuclear crisis before the U.S. presidential elections.” Noitce carefully the last phrase in that quote. Sound like a quid pro quo being done for desperate political reasons other than the best interests of the U.S. or Israel.

  142. Jim, could you come to my blog where I have reposted his article here, of course with credit to him at the top and a link, and post your comment, as well as the link to this other article, if you know where it is at? I am skeptical as well of the intentions. God bless you!

  143. Joel,
I read your work and I like it immensely. However, I am one to keep things fair and equal and point out inaccuracies when they occur. Your recent post on your blog, http://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.com/2012/11/05/four-states-to-vote-on-tuesday-on-legalizing-gay-marriage-implosion-update/, talks about 4 states voting to legalize gay marriage.

Minnesota was in that mix and being a resident of Minnesota I can assure you than Minnesota is NOT voting to legalize gay marriage, we are however voting on the gay marriage issue. Our ballot choice is whether or not to add the definition of marriage being between a man and a woman to the state constitution. If the amendment is defeated by the voters, gay marriage will still be illegal in the state of Minnesota. It will be easier to make it legal in the long run by not having a Constitutional change in the way if the amendment fails, but it gay marriage will not be legal if it loses tomorrow.

  144. Interesting article about your dissection of the election. I agree with you that the church failed to get its members educated. I also believe that since half the population receives a government check of some kind and Obama promises to take care of and regulate people as well as give free money to everyone, they will not “bite the hand that feeds them” and they voted for Obama. I also believe that we have election fraud in this country as there have been many documented examples of this. Interesting that we preach to the world about fair elections and our own have been rife with fraud for at least half a century that I know of.

  145. Mr. Rosenberg:
In reference to the last e-mail update I received about why Christians did not vote for Mr. Romney – I did not vote for Romney – here are my reasons why – I don’t remember anybody calling Obama the first gay president, but I do remember Massachussett being the first state to approve gay marriage under governor Romney. I also remember Mr. Romney being a supporter of contraception and abortion while in office, however he ran campaign ads as if he opposed both, yet the week before the election pulled the pro life ads and replaced them with a more accurate depiction of his position – supporting both contraception and abortion. His lack of concern for the poor, his stand on Medicare and Medicaid, and the final blow was his statement on television “I speako Espanol” – wow! you mean to tell me with all the highly paid advisors on his staff nobody could give him the correct word “hablo”? Is he insulting me as a hispanic voter or is he telling me he is so ignorant I might take that as an effor to speak Spanish? “speako”? Had the Republican Party offered me a better man I might have voted for him, but Romney – he lost me way back.
    Respectfully,
    Lorri T.

  146. Mr. Rosenberg,
I have read Epicenter and Inside the Revolution and appreciate your insights as I follow your blog updates. You have given me so much insight into how current events track with scripture.
I do have one question, however, as I am reading Implosion. On page 191 you write about I Thess 5 referring to the Rapture. My Bible commentary (MacArthur Study Bible, NAS 2006) says that this passage refers to the judgement at the end of the Tribulation period and that “peace and safety” is what false prophets will say is coming, not what currently is. As you said, no one will describe the Tribulation with those terms! My commentary sites many occurrences of false prophets doing this in the OT in spite of God’s immanent judgement.
Other convincing explanations are given as to why this does not refer to the Rapture. Can you please offer some insights for me on why you believe that I Thess 5 does speak of the Rapture instead of the Final Judgement? I respect and value your insight.
    Thank you!!

  148. Hi Joel,

My name is Adalberto Ferro and I’m from Brazil. I just finished to read your book named Implosion and, although I do not be American, I thought very interesting.
In my opinion the greatness of America is mainly due to the Christian principles wherein the nation was established, but nowadays, especially the image that the country shows to the world, is totally the opposite of these principles. Hollywood movies, tv series etc… they “preach” a style of life of libertinism and hedonism.
This situation seems to me, sometimes similar with the last centuries of the Western Roman Empire, but I hope and pray to the America can have a turning-point and the american society can came back to the Christian values.
As Brazilian I’m grateful for the american missionaries that came to here and helped to found the bases of christianism.

I read the Tehran Initiative too. Unfortunatelly your books are not translated to portuguese but I hope that could be to the more Brazilians can have access to them.

    Best wishes

    • Hi Adalberto. I subscribe to Joel’s blog, and I saw your comment here and wanted to reply to you.

I live in the USA..and I am also a Christian. I can honestly tell you with all of my heart and all of my soul… America has NOT gone to hell…. Rather… HELL HAS COME TO AMERICA! I think we are in that season, and I don’t think it’s going to change. I think instead of us Christians focusing so much on trying to bring America to repentance, or God giving us more time…we need to focus on getting out and evangelizing as many people as we can. We can’t change the direction this world has taken, but we can certainly change the number of people going to Hell. “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.”

I don’t think enough of God’s people are doing their jobs. Instead, many of them are putting their own needs, stresses, and wants ahead of what God wants. Having the attitude, if they can’t see it, it won’t hurt them (Depraved Indifference). We’re all going to see it soon…we’re already seeing it. The sad part of it all is that soon, it’ll be too late. All the same people who don’t believe will see, and then they will believe…but the sand in the hour-glass will have run out.

God bless you you Adalberto. Tell everyone you can the truth about Jesus Christ, the Messiah…the Son of the living God…and that time is short. If they laugh at you or mock you, or don’t believe you, have pity on them and pray for the them..knowing God smiles down upon you for your great faith! There will be some who reject what you say, but you’ve planted that seed..and that seed will come forth a little later when the clouds of sorrow move in, and the rain falls and soaks their hearts.

Stay strong..remember Psalm 91 for you and your family. Get your household in order, and prepaer them for coming of the King of Kings… 2 Chronicles 7:14 and John 3:16 for the world Adalberto! Psalm 91 for your family every day…the prayer of protection!

      Love in Christ ♥♥♥ -Lyn

      • Yes I agree, but anyway I think that especially Christians from america feel sadness in relation to the path that the country is treading and they know, better than others Americans, the future consequences of this, like Jeremiah that felt sorrow for Juda due to future consequences in function of the people’s sins.

In Brazil, despite have a large number of people that converted their lifes for Christ in the last decades, I feel sadness because to the image that sometimes the country passes to the world like promiscuity, especially due to the carnaval and things like this. I travel a lot and the first thing that people talk to me when they discover that I’m Brazilian is in relation to Carnaval, people think that the country is “an everlasting party”, actually ” an everlasting promiscuous’ party “, and this is not true.

But independent that we hope, we know that our God controls everything and that His will will be accomplished.

        God bless you

        Adalberto

  149. Hi Joel,
I receive Joel’s Blog’s the one about rapture; pretty much at the beginning Joel states:-“While the Bible does not indicate precisely when the Rapture will happen, it does teach that all true followers of Jesus Christ will be removed from the earth prior to the beginning of the Tribulation”……Where in scripture does it say that? Please can Joel give me the scripture reference?

    Shalom in Yeshua Ha Maschiach

  150. Hey Joel..don’t know if you will get this or not..but love the new look! You might, however, want to go to your widgets area, click on your archives widget to edit it, and make it a dropdown box instead of the list..because the list is too long… I think there might be a calendar type of version you can do too. I’m not sure. It looks great, though..but the archives thingy is too long. Just thought I’d make a suggestion..hope you don’t mind! God bless you!

  151. Joel, I am sure you are a great person and reporting and writing about Israel but I have one question for you. Why doesn’t your blog give more glory to Jesus Christ or God in the title headline? Your name in such big bold and block letters draws attention to you and not God. Remember it’s not about Joel it’s about God. Reconsider my friend who you are giving glory to. Right now it seems to be only you!

  152. pa1800–I do the same thing as Joel, and except for my upcoming trilogy, my blogs are nothing about me whatsoever. Joel is a famous Author..this is how people will find him..by his name. God looks at our hearts, not what we name our blog. Most names of blogs we could use are already taken. Because Joel is well known by his name, people will search for him by his name and find his blog, which glorifies God. His gift is prophecy and prophecy news, and writing about end time events. God bless you pa1800, but I find your comment ridiculous, offensive, judgmental and shallow. Over a name of a blog….? Really? Very sad. I would suggest you remove the plank from your own eye before you go around fishing for something in someone else’s eye, which isn’t even there to begin with.

Since we write books, people will not search for us using the name of Jesus Christ….they will search for us by our author names upon hearing about us, our books, etc. ! I don’t think people like us compare ourselves to Jesus Christ anyways…we are far beneath him…nothing but a grain of sand in comparison.

    • Good grief! My original comment was benign in nature and was for edification only. And yes over the name of a blog, book or whatever. But I understand human nature too and you gave a good rationalized answer. Whenever you compromise and take the glory yourself then you push God out. This applies to any other form of media, movies, publishing, etc. And it applies to anyone and everyone. I see many televangelists, and authors who spend much time on self-promotion and little time on God-promotion.That’s one of the problems today, people put God on the sideline in favor of their agenda, their fame and their fortune. And by the way, I find your [negative] comments repulsive bent on conflict without depth and empty of meaning. You bless me and then rip on me.

One day we will all stand before God and it won’t be our fame or our glory that makes any difference. No one regardless of what he or she has accomplished will make them above anyone else. But our heart is what will be measured – what we believe and how we portray our belief that makes the difference. A huge way of telling others about Jesus is what we say, what we write and how we do what we do. And yes, blog titles are important – they draw attention. Jesus’ glory should be echoed in everything we do and say and we should spend much time on our knees in repentance.

If you think we are but a grain of sand before Almighty God then you are getting it. More people today should heed the verse found in 1 Peter 5:6.

Don’t get me wrong now, Joel is a fine person and I respect him; he reports on many prophetical topics, Israel current events, etc. My beef is on who is getting the glory?

  154. Re: Hamas threatens war if Obama visits the Temple Mount. I don’t understand. ANYONE not Jewish is allowed to visit the Dome of the Rock when they visit Jerusalem. I didn’t make it last time my church group went to Israel – went to another site instead, but many of my group did and I intend to do so myself, next Israeli visit. So why wouldn’t they allow Obama to visit when he is so much more important than we are? Doesn’t compute…

    • I read an article about that the other day. Here is the only thing I have seen:

Obama told them he intends to reiterate the U.S. commitment to Israel’s security and to discuss regional concerns – including Syria – with Jordan’s leadership, the White House said.

Mushir al-Masri, a Hamas spokesman, called for a third intifada if Obama visits the contested religious site in Jerusalem’s Old City between Israelis and Muslims.

Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich believes the warning will lead to violence flaring up in the region ahead of the president’s visit.

  155. Read your comments on your praying for peace and that not be another wae in the Middle East. While few want to see war, prayers for acceptance of the Lord’s actions, I believe, would be a more prudence prayer. We can never “see” the whole picture or all the consequences of what we think is the right road to follow. Only Our Lord know the best road to follow. Accepting His actions is often very hard. Prayers for accepting is often useful because it keeps us in God’s love. Asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom in following God’s instructions and in accepting and believing in what we need to do is of great importance.

  158. Joel ,I am writing not to challenge you. I love all you do and love your emails and every book. I have just come across this information about Gog and Magog. I believe as you do but came across this study and now am confused. I did not write the below information. It does seen to check out. I am not expecting a response. We all want the truth as best we can discern. God does indeed bless you. In Christ, Anna Land

Gog appears only one time in the New Testament Rev. 20:8. the name of some future Antichrist. Remember Revelation was written in the New Testament by John.

MAGOG – appears in the New Testament only one time and is defined in the Greek as a for. nation, an Antichristian party.

It appears very clear the Battle of Gog and Magog happens after the 1,000 year reign and includes all the remnant of those throughout the earth that are against Christ and come to do battle with the Lord and or Christ.

The 20th chapter of Rev. seems to be clearly in order of events.

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

  160. I am surprised at your latest blog post on Syria… Surely there is also a compelling case to make that the Syrian rebels launched the chemical attack themselves to draw in Western military assistance.. Assad has gained the upper hand over the last 6 months and whilst he is a dictator he strikes me as quite intelligent and rational unlike Gaddafi, so why would he risk the momentum he has built and launch a chemical attack that at best would invite some sort of limited military response by the west and at worst a massive retaliatory strike that would put his regime out or greatly on the back foot… I smell a rat here I thought you might have as well

    Regards

  161. I am not a blogger. Just a woman who follow’s The Lord Jesus. I know that many are praying for Joel. I don’t know if he personal reads these comments and hope he does. For those who are The Lord’s disciples, what The Lord has put on my heart will be confirmed. For others it will seem foolishness. I have followed Joel’s. Blog and read a lot of his books. I pray often for him and those that are reading what he writes.

I believe The Lord is using his life to speak truth but as with all of us, human flaws can cause problems. Keeping humble is important and being aware of human weakness is wisdom.

Something to consider, if The Lord asked you to step back from voicing your thoughts in a public forum, giving your opinion, writing books and having a blog… Would you?

Today while reading through all these blog comments and praying for these things, the Holy Spirit brought to my mind what Jesus told Peter (Simon):

Simon, Simon, satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-33

Joel please stay humble, and listen to The Lord, be obedient. Because satan “has asked”.
    Much love

  163. I just read your article about abortion and God’s judgement on America. In light of Israel’s liberal practices concerning abortion and gay rights etc, what in your view is in store for Israel? Will God spare them because they are Jews or do you believe another holocaust is coming?

  164. Joel:
Your insights are, as usual, spot on. However, I must disagree with you about Czar-Wannabe Putin. I DO think that he is Gog. Do I think that he is to the Ezekiel 38 & 39 point in time? No. But the fact that he is expanding Russia’s national borders, and has entered onto strategic agreements with Iran, Germany and other countries in the region is showing that he is headed in that direction. Time is getting shorter by the minute. Maranatha!

  165. Dear Joel, I have been an avid follower for several years–God is using you in awesome ways and you are an example to follow. I have been curious for some time now, how do you respond to the view that the alliance described in Ezekiel 38 is between Iran and Turkey, not Iran and Russia? Walid Shoebat makes a very solid biblical defense of this in his books and numerous videos that are posted online. For example, in verse 3, Rosh means “Chief Prince” instead of “Russia”, and Meshech and Tubal are actual locations in Turkey (bibleatlas.org). I would love to hear whether you are aware of this viewpoint, and why you disagree with it. Thank you!

  166. I apologize, Joel. I looked but couldn’t find a means of contact that didn’t appear to be an agent or publisher (and I don’t have a twitter account). So it made the most sense to post this here. I just wrote a blog article of fair length where I highlighted you in your ministry and thought that perhaps it would be prudent to inform you of it, because it could possibly be encouraging to you.

    http://singlechristian1.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-little-joel-rosenberg-to-start-day.html .

Mark, I’m not really intending to promote the blog here. But I suppose this is the closest thing to a private email, since I suspect the reason one can’t be found is because of the volume of negativity that might make it infeasible for such a public figure as you to have one. Thank you for keeping your focus on the Gospel in what you write (that I’ve read of) — my blog post essentially amounts to a praise to that effect — and keep fighting the good fight of faith.

  167. It disgusts me that people who should know better still use the term “radical Islam.” If Joel had half a clue that it is ISLAM, not “radical” Islam that is the problem, he would have some credibility with me. The clueless about Islam keep referring to radical Islam as if there is a non-radical kind. The non-radical kind of Islam is the one mainstream Islam calls apostates. So he could refer to “apostate Islam” (which is not really Islam anymore), and orthodox, mainstream Islam (the real one that believes in intolerance, hate, jihad, deception, and subjugating the infidel.) There is no “radical” Islam. What people ignorant call “radical Islam” is merely the military arm of Islam. The great majority of Muslims support that military arm, but many will not admit it due to their practice of taqiyya.

    • Like every religion, Islam has followers that have interpreted its revered texts in ways that are not congruent with traditional (or we could also say “orthodox”) understandings. For instance, there are many within the United States, Canada, and much of the U.K. that firmly believe that “jihad” is an inward struggle against corruption of the soul. The evidence of their stated convictions are seen in the solidarity they exhibit with their fellow countrymen when those who do hold a “radical,” “orthodox” or “apocalyptic” view attack- And that solidarity has nothing to do with taqiyya, as dying while practicing taqiyya is just as sure a route to eternal torment as living a life of blasphemy.

Naturally, you’ll not hear about any of this on the evening news, and you won’t hear certain talk show hosts speak with any authority on the issue- This is either because they get higher ratings talking about Muslims as thought they are one extreme or another, or because they simply choose ignorance of the subject over education.

  168. Prime Minister Netanyahu should have gone through proper channels —-the US State Department which is part of the executive branch. By doing this end run, he and House Speaker Boehner showed disregard for both protocol and the president, who was elected by a majority of the American people in 2008 and 2012, whether they like it or not.

I also do not see how this accords with praying for ournation’s leaders–not another nation’s leader as Joel Rosenberg wants (see below)

“Please be praying for the PM, his wife Sara and his team as they prepare for the speech to the Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday at 11am eastern. Thanks”

The contempt shown by the Israeli PM and Speaker Boehner towards Obama may not be plain but it is certainly implied. Also, Christians are supposed to pray for one’s leaders—the bible does not make a distinction about their political party.

I surely hope that Christianity is more than just dissing Democratic office holders and ranting against homosexuality and abortion. If not, I don’t see any advantage to being Christian over being a Muslim fundamentalist.

    • Netenyahu has been attempting to get a date to speak for some time now, and the Obama administration has been rejecting him at every turn- Not something one does to one’s ally. Boehner extended the invitation, and Netenyahu accepted. There has been far more hubris and false gestures from Obama towards Israel than the other way around- This is not partisan posturing; rather, it is verifiable fact.

Joel Rosenberg is a duel citizen as of a few months ago, so his urging people to pray for Netenyahu falls within the Scriptural purview you are advocating. Moreover, he has regularly and routinely requested prayer for the whole of the Obama administration, as well as the President himself. If you’ve just recently started reading, you may have been unaware of that.

Finally, on a personal note (e.g. “The views and opinions expressed at this point are not necessarily those of this blog nor those charged with running it”) I find your final paragraph to be potentially inflammatory and certainly divisive with intent. There are Christians within both the Democrat and Republican camps- And Atheists within each as well. To paint with as broad a brush as you have while completely ignoring the facts of Netenyahu’s most recent visit give the impression of a person with a preconceived bias and opinion- Someone who is not in the least bit concerned with reality when it violates their idea of how the world is and who is in the right.
I am hoping that this impression is not, in fact, true of you.

    • As a less than minor postscript, what would you call a president/p.m. sending staffers and campaign runners to a foreign country to work against the current leader of that country?

That strikes me as far more offensive and contemptuous than giving a speech at the invitation of an elected leader- Yet that is exactly what President Obama has been doing for the past eight months in Israel.

      Food for thought.

  173. And, you too, will most likely reject what I have to say, even though you cannot fault it. A Book about judgment is written using principles of judgment. As all of language is metaphorical, “dark speeches” a Book can test the functional principles of language, i.e. Law, in the reader by how that reader behaves, i.e. responds. Mankind is looking for the fulfillment of fantasy, not truth.

I can demonstrate the Key to the House of David, and what it all means. However, it does not seem to be what most people want to hear. There never has been, nor ever will be, a prophet who teaches religion, what is taught is Law, Law which cannot be refuted, but which goes against mythology.

I will outline it for you, it is not that difficult.

The mind, just like any other life support system of the body, and here is your so called mystical number 7 for there are 7 of them, is responsible for maintaining and promoting the life of the body, which means psychologically, sociologically and environmentally.

The mind is responsible for human behavior.

It is wholly linguistic by function.

There are two branches of language, Logics, such as common grammars and mathematics, and Analogics which are effected as standards of behavior.

As logics are derived from analogics, language is effected as standards of behavior. Standards of behavior is called Law.

The Book tells man even when this is to be presented to mankind. When what is called lucid dreaming has been presented to mankind once again, on a global scale. However, mankind will not understand it until they understand the principles of language, Law.

It is also written that a new language and language concepts would be presented to man. This too has been posted on the Internet Archive. Like lucid dreaming, it is the most fundamental possible analog languages. Call it an introduction to standards of behavior. One can even call it Quantum Linguistics.

My name is John, and yes, it has been my life’s interest, however, I was drafted and for a long time, did not understand why.

    You will find everything here:

    https://archive.org/search.php?query=johnclark8659&sort=-publicdate

I have to explain to you, it is also written that there will be few who do understand. It has to do with our stage in the evolution of man. So, no one is particularly picking on me, that is just how things are.

  174. Mr. Rosenberg, (1) I thank you for putting forward some well-thought out comments on your blog, which I just became aware of through your “final four” for GOP presidential candidates which someone had made a link to on Facebook, and (2) I’d like to press you on the issue of legal immigration. Regarding Mr. Cruz, you wrote, “Moreover, rather than slowing down or cutting legal immigration to allow more Americans to find good jobs and see their wages rise, Cruz actually proposed a 500% increase in H1-B visas. That’s a problem for me.” Why would increased legal immigration be a problem for you? Let me bring to your attention some facts.

Most of the people who immigrate to this country do so either for economic reasons or to be with loved ones who already live here. Both are valid reasons for doing so. Regarding the second, in my experience trying to get my wife here, we were separated as newlyweds for 1 1/2 years while we waited for her visa. I know another woman who was separated from her husband for 3 years while she waited for a visa. My wife knows another woman from the Philippines who was separated for 10 years – yes, 10 long years! – awaiting a visa, and finally I know another woman whose parents just decided to give up and divorce because the process was taking too long. America prides itself as being an international champion of human rights, but the bureaucratic foot-dragging weakens and destroys families and should be a human rights embarrassment to every American. Except, of course, most Americans are unaware of the situation. Responsible, legal immigration is a good thing.

Regarding the economic motivation, what of it? The fear is that “those foreigners” are coming in, taking our jobs, speaking some other language, and turning the culture of this great nation away from what “we good American boys and girls” grew up with. Examine this more thoughtfully. My European ancestors came from dirt-poor Ireland and worked hard, and helped make this nation what it is. Your ancestors did the same. Is it not hypocrisy in the highest to say that future generations can’t do the same? Indeed, that would be itself a betrayal of the great culture we grew up with. “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses …” —is this not as American as it gets? Are such people going to “steal” American jobs, when they become Americans themselves?

Or instead of tired and poor huddled masses, consider talented and capable young people coming to this country to acquire graduate degrees. Should we really educate them and then send them back to where they came from so that they can make other nations more competitive than our own, or should we encourage their assimilation so that the benefits of their education (paid for largely if not entirely by American taxes) go to making this country stronger and more capable? The answer is obvious.

You may say that I’m looking at immigration through rosy, half-glass full eyes, and ignoring problems of legal immigration. What problems does legal immigration bring? That is and has been the demographic lifeblood of this country since before it was a country. If we as individuals cannot compete with those who want to join us, then we will certainly lose our competitive edge to other nations, and we will have ourselves to blame.

  175. Mr. Rosenberg, I just read your latest blog and was SHOCKED that you did not include Dr. Ben Carson in your list of potential godly leaders. Will you please explain why???????

  177. Joel,
Have you investigated the possibility that the chemical weapons found in Syria and being used by ISL are indeed the WMD that were created in IRAQ but not found and that Bush was correct in his assessment.
